About Alaska Shirt Company
Alaska Shirt Company has two locally owned gift shops seeking seasonal employees for our 2024 season! We have two locations on the Alaska Cruise destinations in Southeast Alaska. Our flagship store is located in the Capital of Alaska, in downtown Juneau.
Working in Southeast Alaska is an experience of a lifetime! Surrounded by mountains, lakes, glaciers, and plenty of hiking you'll be immersed in the nature of Alaska! Come have the experience of a lifetime in Alaska while getting paid!
Season Dates:
Seasonal/Contract Employment is from early April through the end of October.
The Employee Experience
Not your regular retail position! We strive to be the best in our industry. Both stores are fast paced, high volume environments. We take pride in our store and strong work ethic. With a high volume of customers limited on time we strive to have a clean, organized and well stocked store for an easy shopping experience. We work as a team to stay caught up on tasks and provide friendly customer service. There's variety too! Employees will participate in stocking, cashiering, freight processing, stockroom organization, and customer service. You'll gain knowledge in variety of retail operations including merchandising, product preparation and warehouse operations.

Ideal Candidate
We love happy, motivated employees! We admire and seek candidates with strong work ethic and who take pride in their work! Who have a positive attitude and like to have fun! Employees need to be respectful of themselves and others. They need to be trustworthy, reliable, energetic, friendly and not afraid to jump into a task and "get dirty"! Employee's must be able to be on their feet for 12+ hours a day, go up 2 flights of stairs several times a day, and maneuver a busy store. Lifting required, up to 50 lbs. Get paid to get in shape and lose weight!

We have housing for our Juneau locations. All housing facilities feature shared living areas, full kitchen, two full+ bathrooms, and laundry facilities. Limited private rooms available. Each room is furnished with beds, pillows, linens, dressers, and towels. Kitchen is stocked with dishes and cookware.
Housing Requirements:
- Must be 18+
- No pets allowed.
- No Vaping/Smoking in Housing.
- Must be clean and considerate of belongings in shared common areas.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Juneau has an international airport and you can book direct flights through Alaska Air or Delta Air.
Biking is a great way to get around! Housing is located within walking/biking distance for both store locations. Juneau has public transportation options available as well.
For Fun
Southeast Alaska is an outdoor adventurers dream! It has plenty of hiking, biking, kayaking, rafting, whale watching and plenty of tours to experience! Breweries, distilleries, and plenty of community events and sports leagues to experience. Southeast Alaska has an active summer season, you'll have the full "local" Alaskan experience outside of work. You can even see the Northern Lights in the later months of the season! Access to trails and activities is typically within walking distance.
Juneau boasts several hiking trails near housing and downtown as well as the TRAM to the top of Mount Roberts.
