YMCA of the Rockies operates two family resorts, residential camps for kids, and conference centers. We offer flexible work agreements for short-term and seasonal positions. We also offer volunteer opportunities, gap year programs, and year-round careers. Hiring now and for every season across all departments.
Our two centers are located on both the eastern and western slope of the Continental Divide. Estes Park Center lives on the eastern slope and is only an hour from Boulder and 1.5 hours from Denver. Snow Mountain Ranch (Also known as The Ranch) is located on the western side and resides in a more remote area known as the Fraser Valley.

Estes Park Center has over 860 acres of mountain terrain for outdoor recreation and relaxation, while Snow Mountain Ranch sits on over 5,100 acres. In the winter, Snow Mountain Ranch is home to one of the largest Nordic ski areas in the country - with over 100 km of trails!

Estes Park Center is located 65 miles northwest of Denver and sits at an elevation of 8,010 feet. The Center is just outside the quaint town of Estes Park, where there is fine shopping and entertainment. We are within walking distance to the spectacular Rocky Mountain National Park, so bring your hiking boots and camera!
Snow Mountain Ranch is located approximately 90 miles west of Denver and is located between Winter Park Resort, Grand Lake, and Rocky Mountain National Park. While Estes Park Center sits on 800 acres of land, Snow Mountain Ranch sits on over 5,000 acres! Moose are popular visitors throughout the year.
Flying into Denver International Airport (DIA) is the best option for those traveling by air. Direct shuttles to YMCA of the Rockies - Estes Park Center are available from the airport. For Snow Mountain Ranch, there are a few options for those without a car. POSITION SUMMARY: Outdoor Education Instructors will teach outdoor education classes, develop curriculum, perform organization tasks, communicate with schools and school leaders, and assist any projects or tasks that better the Outdoor Education Program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Participate in the Outdoor Education training
· Plan, develop and implement curriculum and activities for schools visiting Snow Mountain Ranch
· Adhere to all weekly scheduled activities and classes
· Help to maintain a clean and organized staff area
· Maintain a professional appearance in working with youth
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
· Be at least 18 years old
· Have experience and enjoy working with youth
· Ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage time.
· Possess a real passion for, or be working towards a degree in Education, Science, Environmental Studies, Biology, or similar area of study
· Possess and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid
· Be able to pass a background check to work with youth
· Carry up to 30 pounds and hike up to 6 miles on uneven terrain each working day
· You will need a valid US state issued driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and follow YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles
· May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on your position

The Summit Gap Program at Snow Mountain Ranch is a unique 10-week experience designed to help young adults (ages 18-25) find their place, find their purpose, and find their peace.
The Summit Gap Program has 5 main focuses: Self-Discovery, Service, Spirituality, Support, and Surroundings. In other words, Summit gives you the opportunity to discover who you were made to be, serve the people around you, grow in your spiritual walk, find support in your journey, all while being immersed in the surroundings of a beautiful natural environment.
While the program will provide you with meaningful seasonal work, its true heart lies in fostering personal and spiritual growth. Through guided reflection, intentional community, and a connection to the quiet wisdom of creation, you will have the space to explore your goals, deepen your faith, and listen to your own inner guidance. This is an opportunity to cultivate a rhythm of rest, form lasting bonds in a safe and supportive group of people your age, and find a renewed sense of direction for your journey ahead.
The Summit Gap Program is located at YMCA of the Rockies’ Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby, Colorado, a 5000-acre campus at an elevation of 8750 ft, nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. We are located about 15 minutes away from local mountain towns and ski resorts, 30 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park and 90 minutes from the Denver metropolitan area.

What does a typical week look like in the Summit Gap Program?
This is a seasonal position, you will work for 4 days (based on 32 hours/week), paying $15.15 per hour.
Each week you will participating in a special “Summit Day,” and have 2 days off.
What are “Summit Days”?
“Summit Days” are a dedicated day each week to come together with your team and participate in something new together. provides participants with meaningful work experience and guided opportunities for personal and spiritual growth. Through reflection, mentorship, and service, participants will explore their values, stretch beyond comfort zones, and rekindle their connection to community and faith.

What does work look like?
YMCA of the Rockies is internationally renowned for its conference centers and hospitality services, and you get to be a part of its mission! You will be provided with a seasonal job in either food service or housekeeping during the program.
Upon successful completion of the Summit Gap Program, participants may be offered the opportunity to extend their employment for up to 5–6 additional months, either in their current department or in another department based on interest and availability.
Do I get paid as a participant of Summit Program?
This position pays $15.15 an hour with a deduction of $170 a week for the Rocky Mountain Living Package which includes:
Shared rooms in our staff dormitory with free Wi-Fi, laundry, and utilities.
3 buffet-style meals per day, 7 days a week with meals provided during outings.
Access to the YMCA of the Rockies facilities, which include an indoor pool, basketball courts, mini golf, chapel, tennis, and pickle ball courts, hiking trails, outdoor exercise loop, archery, roller rink, library, craft & design center and much more.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park Center, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center, serving more than 150,000 guests annually. Participants of the Elevate Gap Program are employed with either housekeeping or food service and participate in weekly “Elevate Days,” or experiential learning days, led by our facilitators. It is also the responsibility of the facilitators to plan and execute extracurricular activities for program participants outside of their scheduled Elevate Days. The facilitator must be able to safely and efficiently plan, prepare for, and lead backpacking and camping trips, day hikes, outdoor education classes, and other outdoor activities for participants.
The mission of the Elevate Gap program is to foster a sense of belonging and community, build confidence in outdoor skills, and provide a supportive environment for self-discovery and personal growth. Through hospitality work, program days, and guidance from our facilitation team, we support young adults (ages 18-23) during a time of uncertainty.
Aligned with the YMCA’s core values of nurturing mind, body, and spirit, participants are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones—physically, emotionally, and mentally—fostering resilience and personal development.
Gap Program Facilitators ensure that the program is carried out as it aligns with our mission. Facilitators are required to implement activities, nurture an intentional community among the Gap program participants, provide mentorship, and create interpersonal relationships as they see will benefit the participants’ experience. Facilitators help participants adjust to full-time work while navigating workplace challenges to ensure success at the YMCA of the Rockies and their future.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lead, facilitate, and debrief weekly Elevate days, including outdoor adventure trips, service trips,
and self-development/discovery opportunities fostering intentionality and growth mindset.
Initiate regular check-ins with GAP participants to help them meet their goals and to support their
growth of a healthy mind, spirit, and body.
Frequently post updates/communication with participants regarding expectations for upcoming activities.
Lead adventures activities up to five days weekly, including day hikes, overnight backpacking and
camping trips, snowshoeing, etc.
Partner with third-party vendors and departments internally to obtain all items necessary for activities
and trips (i.e., food, gear, campsite reservations, etc.).
Load, unload, manage, inventory, and care for Elevate equipment and gear, ensuring that equipment is safe and in working condition.
Communicate safety precautions before embarking on outdoor trips to mitigate risk.
Assess, manage, and prevent risks and emergencies as the primary emergency responder and/or support person during program days and activities.
Must always exhibit positive role modeling behavior.
Must always maintain clear, professional boundaries.
Promote learning and engagement opportunities that challenge growth.
Assist with administrative tasks such as compiling and evaluating feedback, assessing program performance, communicating with and interviewing potential future participants, etc.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Experience working in outdoor education, camps, recreational guiding services, or similar occupations.
Must possess outdoor skills including hiking, camping, and backpacking.
Possess stamina to engage in weekly physical activities while also managing complex group dynamics.
Promote a cooperative, positive, and problem-solving atmosphere.
Possess and maintain current CPR and WFA certifications (preferred not required).
Ability to interact with young adults in a leadership role.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, be self-directed, and make sound decisions.
Must possess high emotional maturity and consistently set and uphold boundaries.
Ability to handle stressful situations with diplomacy and tact.

Must pass DOT physical exam and drug test to be eligible to drive a 14-passenger minibus.
Must be highly organized with impeccable accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to complete tasks promptly and efficiently.
Ability to communicate visually and orally while speaking, writing, and reading English fluently.

Join the Elevate Gap Program at YMCA of the Rockies’ Estes Park Center for an unforgettable semester of adventure, community, and growth! Why Elevate?
YMCA of the Rockies’ Elevate Gap Program blends paid work with immersive outdoor adventures, team activities, personal workshops and moments of reflection. Work in guest services (housekeeping/food service departments) alongside seasoned YMCA staff, build leadership skills through workshops, discover a greater sense of purpose through service projects, forge life-long relationships, and learn wilderness skills through hiking, backpacking, and a multi-day trip. Program Outcomes:

Compensation & Perks:
Participants in the Elevate Gap Program are paid seasonal employees of YMCA of the Rockies. Each participant will work at least 32 hours per week, at a paid rate of $15.16/hr.
Weekly bonus opportunities
One day per week is an unpaid Elevate growth and adventure day.
Elevate participants live on-site in staff dormitories as part of our Rocky Mountain Living Package (RMLP). The RMLP includes shared dormitory rooms, spacious lobbies, three buffet-style meals per day, free wi-fi, access to all staff activities, and more, at a cost of $170 per week (automatically deducted from your paycheck). Activity Facilitators are responsible for leading family-oriented and group programs for members and guests of all ages. This includes sports, archery, outdoor nature activities, mini-golf clubhouse, roller rink, science experiments, climbing wall, games and other family programs. Additionally, Activity Facilitators will assist guests at the program registration desk.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies – Estes Park Center, which operates a mission-driven family and group conference and retreat center serving approximately 150,000 guests annually.
The Guest Registration team plays a vital role in ensuring an exceptional guest experience, as it is where our visitors’ first and last impressions of the Estes Park Center are made. Guests check in and check out through this department and often stop by or call for directions, campus information, and recommendations on activities and places to visit in Estes Park.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Check guests in and out of accommodations using the computer-based property management system.
Operate office equipment including a computer, adding machine, base radio system, and telephone switchboard.
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to respond to guest and staff concerns, questions, and emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
Provide outstanding telephone service, including accurate information and effective salesmanship.
Accurately account for income and maintain proper financial records during assigned shifts.
Work effectively in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions, distractions, and deadlines.
Appropriately handle emergency situations and demonstrate problem-solving skills for both guest and staff issues.
Maintain flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules.
Perform tasks requiring physical stamina, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods (up to 8 hours) on hard surfaces.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English.
Previous hotel, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
Clerical experience preferred.
Ability to learn and perform Income Audit and Night Audit responsibilities as scheduled.
Ability to perform general office cleaning and assist guests with transporting luggage when needed.

What You’ll DoMaintain and improve landscaped and natural outdoor areas across YMCA of the Rockies properties
Plant, care for, and maintain flowers, trees, shrubs, and turf
Operate and perform routine checks on irrigation and sprinkler systems
Perform snow removal and shoveling to ensure safe access during winter months
Assist with trail, road, and grounds grooming projects
Safely operate YMCA vehicles and landscaping equipment

Work outdoors in a high-elevation environment across changing weather conditions
Basic horticulture or landscaping knowledge preferred
