Summer Staff Flex position @ Stanford Sierra Camp
South Lake Tahoe, CA | Fallen Leaf Lake

Stanford Sierra Camp is seeking an adaptable, energetic, and service-oriented team members for a newly created Summer Staff Flex position. Located on Fallen Leaf Lake near South Lake Tahoe. Stanford Sierra Camp is a full-service conference center and family camp operated by the Stanford Alumni Association.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in fast-paced environments, and wants hands-on experience across many areas of camp and hospitality operations. Unlike traditional camp jobs with one fixed assignment, the Flex Staff member supports different departments throughout the summer based on operational needs, guest services, special events, and staffing needs.
What You’ll Do | Responsibilities may vary throughout the season and can include:
- Supporting guest activities, special events, and youth programming
- Assisting with waterfront and boat dock operations
- Helping kitchen staff with food prep and meal service
- Working dining room and dishwashing shifts
- Supporting camp store and café operations
- Assisting with office, registration, and guest service duties
- Providing operational support, setup/breakdown assistance, and groundskeeping
- Covering shifts in high-demand areas across Camp
- Delivering exceptional customer service to guests and fellow staff
This position is designed with a regular, predetermined schedule to provide consistency, while also serving as a flexible coverage role that may be deployed to different shifts, stations, or areas during scheduled working hours to support staffing and operational demands. This is not an on-call position.
Schedule & Dates:
- Full-time seasonal position
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Monday–Friday schedule
- Mid-June through mid-September 2026
- Anticipated start date: June 15, 2026
What We’re Looking For:
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to adapt quickly and support different teams
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Hospitality, restaurant, camp, conference center, or customer service experience preferred
- Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire due to alcohol service responsibilities
- Must be available to work on-site in the Tahoe Basin throughout the summer season
Physical Requirements:
This role includes standing, walking, lifting, bending, carrying supplies, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Applicants should be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Compensation & Perks:
