About Sage Outdoor Adventures
Thank you for your interest in possible employment with Sage Outdoor Adventures. We are excited to talk to you about what we have to offer. We hire people who are genuinely good, happy people. People that love the out-of-doors, that love other people, that are gifted at sharing, and are naturally giving, polite, and mature. We can train you to do the below mentioned jobs, but first, you must meet our personality criteria, naturally.
Sage Outdoor Adventures is the largest Outdoor Recreation company located in the Vail Valley, yet still family owned and ran like a tight group of good friends. The company offers Whitewater Rafting, Snowmobiling, Horseback Riding, Side x Side Tours, Sporting Clays, Fly Fishing, and most recently a full River Activities Center.
We currently have operations with bases located at Castle Peak Ranch, Dotsero, Granite, and Eagle/Vail.
Sage was founded in 2009 by Darryl and Cole Bangert and although that may make us the new kids on the block there is a bit more to the story. Darryl was the first commercial rafting guide in Eagle County and the first to run Dowd Chute and Gore Canyon commercially.
Darryl helped to start Timberline Tours then separated to start Eagle River Whitewater in 1973 which eventually merged back with Timberline Tours some years later. Darryl eventually sold his shares and moved on to start Lakota River Guides in 1996, growing that company along with Joe Tomasic Sage's General Manager to be one of the largest outfitters of the time and later selling it in 2004 in order to spend time working with Cole and helping to manage his World Cup Downhill Bike Racing career.
The Employee Experience
The Sage Employee Experience is second to none! The owners and staff all love what we do and live for the outdoors. Many of our guides have been with the company for years and consider their co-workers to be a second family.
We work hard when its time to work and still find time to hang out and enjoy the mountain lifestyle we came here for. When we hire someone we are hoping that the relationship lasts for years!
We are seeking highly motivated outdoor enthusiasts. Applicants should have general knowledge of the position they are applying for but we understand not everyone will have actual guiding experience. We will train you how to guide and you will gain useful knowledge that you can take with you, your entire life.
We look for fun, friendly, outgoing individuals that truly love being outside and sharing that joy of the outdoors with our guests.
Room and Board
Sage Outdoor Adventures does not offer housing of any kind. We do however have an extensive list of potential housing options and will put you in touch with many of our current staff to help you find a place to live.
Working for Sage will get you Pro Pricing on many types of outdoor gear and friends / family discounts!
Getting Here and Getting Around
You absolutely must have a vehicle to get around. Everything in Colorado is spread out and the bus does not serve many areas. Sage has multiple locations and you will be working at most of them.
Vail is centrally located right smack dab in the middle or Colorado and we are surrounded by thousands of opportunities for fun. Sage capitalizes on many of the activities available but there is so much more.
Visit the Vail Valley Partnerships website for cool things to do and visit.
