Servers at Rio Piedra play an essential role in the overall guest experience and are responsible for providing the highest level of hospitality to all guests.  Because we limit occupancy to approximately 35 guests per night, our guests expect a more intimate and personalized experience.  Knowing this, it is necessary for all team members to have excellent customer service skills and to work diligently to anticipate and exceed guest expectations.  All prospective candidates should be well versed in luxury service standards.

The start date for this position is October 9th 2026 and runs through late-March 2027.  We do close briefly for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Job responsibilities.

  • Continuously demonstrate a commitment to genuine hospitality by providing warm, caring service

  • Ensure proper fine dining etiquette is maintained, and food and drinks are presented properly

  • Check food presentation before taking food from the kitchen to the guest. Hot food hot and fresh!

  • Continuously monitor guest satisfaction and collaborate with the kitchen and waitstaff to improve the guest experience

  • Complete all necessary setup/ tear-down work and closing duties as assigned

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.

  • Hour's variable and will include split shifts (breakfast/dinner).  Hours will include nights and weekends.

Qualifications and desired skills:

  • Great interpersonal skills:

    • Outgoing and genuine desire to create a personal connection with guests

    • Ability to recognize when guests may want more or less interaction

  • Genuine desire to understand and anticipate guests needs and wants

  • 1+ years of experience as a server (fine dining/upscale casual serving experience preferred)

  • Basic bartending experience preferred

  • Knowledge of proper food handling, food storage, and sanitation procedures

  • Strong organization, listening and communication skills, detail oriented

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Genuine desire to foster and work in a team-oriented environment; collaboratively work with kitchen and waitstaff

  • Positive, can-do attitude

  • Passion for service

  • Commitment to reliability- arrive on-time for work and maintain good attendance

  • Open to flexible work schedule and willingness to work split shifts

Compensation and other perks: 

Pay is based on experience, but rates typically start around $15.00/hour plus tips.  Estimated tips over the course of the season are between $4,000 and $8,000, based on hours worked.  Employee housing is available, includes utilities (water, gas, electric, internet) and costs $150/week.  Our goal is for each team member to have their own bedroom, though there is a small possibility you may have a roommate.  Meals are provided on those days/shifts that you are working.
