  • Golf Course Maintenance Operator

    Golf Maintenance

    Operators under the direction of the Assistant Superintendents, operate light motorized equipment on the golf course and does related work as needed for golf course maintenance department.

    Standard Specifications: Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Previous experience in the safe and efficient operation of small equipment, hand and power tools.

    SKILLS: Essential: 1. Knowledge of safe and efficient operation of small equipment. 2. Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment. 3. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. 4. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis. 5. Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time, sometimes in inclement weather. ESSENTIAL

    JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Operates various mowers, string trimmers, edged cart paths, bunkers, sprinkler heads, and helps maintain sand bunkers. 2. Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis. Reports equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager immediately. 3. Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility, and takes responsibility for cleaning any equipment he/she has used. 4. Assists in project work such as drainage, sod laying, preparing base soil, and any other projects that may arise through the season.

    SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Maintains effective communication and cooperation with all other departments. 2. Maintains positive interactions with club members and guests, providing a high level of customer service. 3.   • Golf Services

    Golf Operations

    The Guest Service Staff is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and striving for the highest of standards to provide each member and guest with a memorable experience. The Guest Service staff reports to the Guest Service Supervisor and Head Golf Professional.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • Must be well groomed and adhere to dress code/uniform and personal appearance standards defined in the associate handbook. • Must be friendly and outgoing with a professional demeanor. • Ability to work alone during certain parts of the day. • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and possible overtime.

    POSITION EXPECTATIONS: • Transport all golf bags to and from entry area. We must work as a team to ensure that at least one person is present to greet member and guests at the entry area at all times. • Clean all golf clubs coming in from the golf course. We must work as a team to ensure that associates are present at the staging area when all members and guests conclude their round. • Maintain cleanliness of all outside service/staging areas. • Maintain neatness and cleanliness of cart barn and adjacent areas. • Regularly empty trash from all receptacles in and around golf shop and outside area. • Work with other golf associates in staging bags, carts, etc. for special events. • Stage ample amount of golf carts in staging area. • Thoroughly clean and park golf carts in proper storage areas. • Maintain and properly record a golf cart-detailing program. • Set the practice tee at the start of each day. • Maintain the comfort station throughout the day. • Pull all flagsticks from the range and course at the end of the day. • Maintain all practice areas throughout the day. • Ensure guests receive rental clubs as needed. Always check rental clubs in and out and ensure the sets are complete and in order. • Assist in the F&B operations during peak times as needed. • Report all golf cart malfunctions to the Head Golf Professional. • Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times. • Be informed on and promote all club activities and services. • Provide excellent customer service, professional advice, and assistance to all members and guests.

  • Lead Bartender

    Food and Beverage

    This position will require you to interact one on one with the guests, take their orders, make cocktails utilizing company service standards, and ensure guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for maintaining an issued cash bank throughout your shift.  You will also be actively marketing yourself and the establishment through various social media outreach and staff outings. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  Job Duties include; although are not limited to: Consistently following Food & Beverage sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by venue managers and chefs • Participating in weekly marketing requirements and outings and actively marketing the venue and yourself. You are encouraged to make weekly table reservations and build the venue database through networking and completing data cards and building and establishing personal clientele • Exhibiting proper knowledge, selling techniques and service delivery of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and any menu items offered while maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the bar • Anticipating the guests’ needs and responding appropriately with a sense of urgency  • Cleaning of all equipment, tools, and supplies and maintaining equipment in good working order while following all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department and County health department. • Working as a team and effectively communicating with management, bartenders and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and/or other Associates. 

    QUALIFICATIONS • 3 years restaurant experience and/or 2 years’ experience bartending in a similar establishment.   • Line Cook

    Food And Beverage

    The Cook is responsible for preparing the highest quality food products for the restaurant and banquets, according to menu descriptions and directions. Essential Functions: • Prepare food items for the guests using a quality and pre-determined method in a timely and consistent manner. • The work station must be set up based on menu items, banquet event orders and specials, and ensures all misenplace is ready for the shift. • Proper sanitation and safety guidelines must be followed at all times, and all kitchen work and storage areas must be kept clean and organized. • Inspect all food products to maintain proper appearance, colors and appeal. • All food storage must be in proper containers in refrigerators and freezers, to maintain freshness. Qualifications: • High school degree required or GED equivalent. • Ability to read recipes and follow directions. • Ability to efficiently and safely handle knives, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment such as slicers, grinders, choppers, and mixers. • Visual acuity for near and depth and color perception, reading menus and writing orders, and checking appearance of all food products. • Able to demonstrate culinary techniques such as cutting, cooking principles, plate presentations and proper sanitation and safety practices. • Two years previous restaurant cooking experience in high end restaurant. • Positive personality and good interpersonal skills for interfacing with members, guests and staff. • Ability to make sound, common sense and rational decisions in performance of duties. • Speak, read and write the primary language (English) spoken in the work environment. • Knowledge of basic computational skills and computer or POS operation.     JOB OVERVIEW: The Maintenance Technician will be accountable for performing all daily tasks associated with engineering duties including, but not limited to: perform general repairs and services in all maintenance-related disciplines, e.g. carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, and minor electrical. Prioritize work orders through urgent requests and established down times in order to minimize inconveniencing guests. Complete any and all assigned preventive maintenance procedures. Participate in OSHA/Safety programs within the organization through awareness in everyday jobs.     •Creates and maintains information on all activities, events, and food & beverage offerings to provide comprehensive, accurate, and timely information to members and guests.

    •Creates itineraries for members, guests, and prospective members during their visit. •Interfaces with other departments in order to meet member and guest requests.

    •Responsible for charging services and creating member profiles using a club management system.

  • On- Call Banquet Server

    This position will provide the highest quality of service to our members and guests during Banquet and Member Events at Moonlight Basin. Job duties include, but are not limited to: • Serve food & beverage orders in a friendly, professional, and timely manner. Take food and beverage orders if applicable using suggestive techniques. Have complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, serving temperature, portion size, garnish and method of presentation. • Clear tables during service. • Control guest checks and secure proper payment. • Ensure station and table set-ups are complete and perform various side duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Managers. • Provide exceptional service. QUALIFICATIONS Ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications: • Two years Food & Beverage experience. • High school or equivalent education required. • Be able to communicate clearly and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests. • Basic knowledge of food presentation, preparation and handling. • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system. • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.     Activities Guide is a Moonlight Outfitters position requiring extensive outdoor activity teaching and facilitation experience and the personality and ability to relate to and build trust with Moonlight Club members, families, and guests in a safe and fun learning environment. Activities guides facilitate member activities such as archery, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, stand up paddle boarding, and sporting clays. Safety and fun within a unique outdoor experience are the ultimate goals of the Moonlight Outfitters.     The Host position will primarily greet and assist Guests in a positive, welcoming and professional manner. The Host will anticipate guests' needs, and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency. They will also maintain a proactive approach to solving any guest's questions or problems. Finally, the Host will bid farewell to guests, using their name when known, and encourage them to return to the establishment.

  • Valet

    Valet

    The Valet Parker is responsible to provide a consistently high degree of both friendliness and efficiency for all guests and visitors by parking guest vehicles in a safe and orderly manner and transporting guests throughout the Big Sky area. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Drive guest vehicles from lodge drop off area to designated parking area for valet parking and return guest vehicle to lodge pickup for guest pick-up when needed.
    Assisting with the signature arrivals for our guests. 
    Providing shuttle services within the Big Sky area.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Ability to operate all types of passenger vehicles (standard and automatic).
    Valid state driver's license required.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    Most work tasks are performed outdoors. The worker is driving and getting in and out of vehicles most of the day. Must be able to stand or drive and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. frequently. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning and luggage handling tasks. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.

  • Backpacking Guide

    Moonlight Basin is located right in the middle of the best things to see and do in Montana. You can visit Yellowstone National Park. Explore the national forest and wilderness lands. Come down to the town of Big Sky and shop, eat, and catch some music. Bozeman is a short drive and easily accessible by Skyline Bus.

    POSITION SUMMARY: 

    This seasonal position within Moonlight Basin is leading the way for member and local kids to explore their backyard national park for July and August. Guides will take participants on overnight trips in Yellowstone National Park and local wilderness areas to empower, expose, and educate.

    JOB DUTIES: 

    • Lead 11- 17-year-old member kids on backpacking expeditions in wilderness settings.
    • Maintain a schedule of assigned 4 day/3 night trips with variable days off in between for the season (July 8-August 20)
    • Act as primary expedition risk manager & continuously evaluate group and individual performances.
    • Hike 5-12 miles per day with a 40lbs+ pack over steep, uneven, and variable terrain in all weather conditions.
    • Manage all emergencies in the field.
    • Be responsible for knowledge of trails prior to trips with Moonlight Basin.
    • Prepare and manage all aspects of food preparation, camp setup, and Leave No Trace in the backcountry while empowering kids to participate in daily camp responsibilities.

     

    • Keep in timely communication with management and support staff.
    • Assist with the care and maintenance of backpacking gear before and after trips.
    • Must be able to keep kids’ spirits high in all backcountry scenarios.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2+ years professional backcountry guiding experience, preferably with children. Personal experience a plus.
    • WFA or WFR certification, higher with CPR/First Aid or the ability to obtain before start date.
    • ServSafe Food Handler’s certification or ability to obtain before start date.
    • LNT awareness.
    • Knowledge and experience working in the national parks, Yellowstone National Park a plus.
    • Natural resources, wildlife, ecosystems, and stewardship knowledge as it pertains to Yellowstone National Park.
    • Experience guiding and/or recreating in bear country.
    • Self-motivated and works well independently and with a co-guide/support staff.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Work tasks are performed mostly outdoors. Must be able to work in all-weather events specific to high mountain environments including, but not limited to, extreme heat, rain, smoky air, and biting insects.

    • Must be able to carry a backpack with safety equipment, necessary gear, and teaching materials.

    Position Summary:
    Prepare and service beverages for servers and guests in a speedy, efficient, friendly, and professional manner. Associates will be responsible for working in both restaurants, beverage cart, snack shack on golf course, and events and are expected to work both day and night shifts.

    Job Duties:
    Prepare all drinks to Moonlight Basin standards and specifications for the customers and servers.
    Ensure that the proper materials and supplies are on hand.
    Connect with guests.
    Ensure that minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages.
    Act as the cashier for the servers when necessary.
    Provide guests with the best possible service skills and charm, while maintaining a professional distance and attitude.
    Continually create emotional attachments with each guest encounter and guarantee welcoming environment.
    Maintain the cleanliness of the bar area through disposing of all waste, clearing and cleaning all glassware, and wiping down bar and preparation areas throughout and at the end of shift.
    Provide opening and closing inventory of spirits.
    Fill out requisitions and all necessary paperwork at the end of each shift.
    Qualifications:

    Education: High school or equivalent education required.
    Experience: One-year high volume bar experience required.
    Customer service experience preferred.
    Ideal candidate will have worked at a fine dining level for one to two years.
    Licenses or Certificates
    Must be minimum age to serve alcohol.
    Associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Moonlight Basin’s standards.

    Physical Demands:
    Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more.
    Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
    Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
    May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs.
    Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift 40 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
    Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
    Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
    Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
    Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
    Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
    Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
    Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment, including, but not limited to, cutlery used in the cutting of fruit.

    Position Summary: 

    Make a meaningful impact as FOH Support at Moonlight Basin. As a FOH Support person, you are a vital member to service team and a key part of making everyone in the restaurant feel welcome. They must also maintain a calm and graceful demeanor throughout service and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

    Moonlight Tavern, 3 Forks, Clubhouse Grill and all Moonlight Basin food & beverage outlets are quick and exciting with many opportunities to learn and grow. Professionals in this role will need to demonstrate a throughout knowledge of the floor plan, food and beverage offerings, and operational information. Successful candidates require excellent communication skills and a pleasant, friendly attitude toward their fellow associates and our members and guests. Ideal applicants are professional with a strong passion for hospitality. 

    Primary Job Duties: 

    • Successfully coordinate with other food & beverage associates to set-up and maintain stations and tables correctly and efficiently, run beverages and food accurately, anticipate the needs of our members and guests, and provide an excellent service experience. 
    • Maintain mastery of table numbers, seat positions, and our steps of service. 
    • Maintain and demonstrate ability to identify and properly serve our food & beverage items. 
    • Create and maintain strong relationships with our members and guests. 
    • Possess knowledge of our beer, wine, and cocktail offerings.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 1 year experience in a front of house role in a hospitality business. 
    • Minimum high school/GED education. College degree preferred.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Precise attention to detail. 
    • Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

    • Exceptional guest recovery skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Previous experience with online reservation systems, such as Resy, is preferred.

    • Must be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays. 
    • This is a full time, seasonal position.

    Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 10 hours in length.  Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
