For those who love the outdoors, we offer more than a job- we offer an experience. Spend the spring, summer, and fall working and living right outside beautiful national parks. We encourage our staff to spend their off-duty time hiking, biking, rafting, riding, and experiencing everything these locations have to offer. When on-duty, our staff's enthusiasm for outdoor adventures shows in every experience we have with our guests.

The Employee Experience
Live and work by either Arches, Glacier, Zion, Smoky, Mt. Rushmore,or Yellowstone National Parks! Enjoy everything outdoors every day of the season.
Under Canvas expects all staff to be adventurous, respectful, and resourceful. We work hard and play hard for the short time we have to enjoy the amazing views, weather, mountains, and sunsets. In conjunction with our vendors, we offer staff the opportunity to experience the same local adventures we offer our guests: rafting, horseback riding, zip lines, and more.
Employee housing is available at all locations. Most housing is located off-site, with the exception of Yellowstone, which offers all on-site housing with single or double occupancy rental options available.

Room and Board
Employee housing is available at all UC locations. All housing is located off-site (you will need your own transportation to and from work), with the exception of Yellowstone which offers all housing on the property. Most housing is shared accommodations based on the number of staff who take advantage of this offer- be prepared to share a bedroom, bath, and cooking facilities. Shared room rates are $200 per month, $400 for single rooms.
Locations with restaurants (Yellowstone, Zion, Mt. Rushmore, and Smoky Mountains as of 2018) offer employee meal discounts. 50% off apps, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. 25% off entrees. No discounts offered on alcohol.
We offer staff the same adventures we offer our guests- most of it free- rafting, horseback riding, zip line, etc. On your off-time, the National Parks offer unlimited hiking and site-seeing options.
Getting Here and Getting Around
If you plan to work at our Yellowstone location, you will not need a personal vehicle on a daily basis. Restaurant, housing, and work are all located on the same property. You will need to find transportation to the actual work-site when you begin your employment and find a solution for reaching town for groceries and personal items if needed. Many staff members car-pool or offer shuttle services to other employees.
You will be most comfortable having your own personal vehicle at all other UC locations as staff housing is around 20 minutes from the camp. Public transportation is rare in the more remote locations in which our camps are located.
