Camp Kieve and Wavus are seeking registered nurses to join our health center teams for Summer 2026. Our overnight tripping camps serve approximately 250 campers ages 8–16 across two sessions on Damariscotta Lake in midcoast Maine.
Camp nurses care for the health and well-being of campers and staff as part of a collaborative health center team throughout the summer. Nurses are supported by the Health Center Director (RN), our KWE Healthcare Director (an on-site nurse practitioner), and a contracted consulting physician in town.
Responsibilities
Administer medications and treatments
Provide care for minor illnesses and injuries
Consult with the Health Center Director, and the camp’s on-site nurse practitioner as necessary, to arrange outside medical care when campers require urgent care or physician evaluation
Support the Health Center Director in communication with camp leadership and families when appropriate
Maintain clear and organized health documentation
Serve as a clinical resource for Health Center Assistant Directors, counselors, and campers
Dates: June 9 – August 15, 2026 (flexible contracts may be considered)
Location: Nobleboro, Maine and Jefferson, Maine
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range depending on experience ($7,125 - $13,875; hourly rates possible if local)
Free room and board
Additional benefits include:
Full-day childcare for children under 8 through our Kiddie Camp program (five - seven days per week)
Children over age 8 may enroll in camp with financial assistance if space is available
Potential support for travel to and from camp

For nearly 100 years, Camp Kieve for boys and Wavus Camp for girls have attracted the very best young leaders to serve as role models for campers and guide them in camp and on wilderness expeditions throughout Maine and New Hampshire. There are (2) 26-day sessions, ages 8- 17 and a 10 day session, typically for ages 8-10.

- Our staff live in modern cabins with our campers. They are winterized for our school year programs and all have WiFi access. Each cabin has up to 13 campers and three counselors. Our staff's only expenses are getting to and from camp and the gear they need to explore the woods, rivers, and lakes of Maine and New Hampshire. We also provide support for both.
