JAX Food & Games, a high-volume restaurant in Killington, Vermont, is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house operations. As part of The Karr Group, Killington's largest hospitality management company, you'll join a team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences across some of the area's most popular destinations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all kitchen operations

  • Supervise, coach, train, and develop the kitchen team

  • Create employee schedules and manage labor to meet business needs

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment

  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and recipe execution

  • Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations

  • Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and control food costs

  • Manage kitchen budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiency

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment

  • Partner with front-of-house leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or similar culinary leadership role

  • Experience leading teams in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant

  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and culinary best practices

  • Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards

  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods
