We are a seasonal company that starts the beginning of May and runs through September.  It is ideal that staff be able to stay the entire time.

Most positions are entry level with no experience required and a few that will require some experience.

    Juneau, Alaska
    $15.00 / hour

    We are looking for energetic and hardworking folks to join our team! Gold Rush Dog Tours offers dog cart tours the Sheep Creek Valley near Juneau, AK.  Our season runs from May - September.

    Requirements:   

    • 23 years and older   

    • Clean driving record   

    • Provide a current Department of Transportation (DOT) card   

    • Pass pre-employment and random drug test

    • Valid CPR and First Aid certifications

    • Must be able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis

    Duties:   

    • Greeting and helping guests on the van   

    • Driving guest from cruise ship dock to camp while providing a narrated tour

    • Helping in camp with duties as assigned    

    • Expediter errands for camp

    Housing is offsite with a nominal fee of $350 per month for double occupancy.

  • Camp Cook

    Juneau, Alaska

    Do you enjoy cooking for yourself and others? Do you have a passion for healthy, delicious, food? If so, we are looking for you! The ideal candidate will have knowledge of food preparation, food handling and a current Alaska Food Handlers permit (ADEC). Your environment will be semi-remote so organization, meal creativity, food storage awareness and meal planning is a must.

    Details:

    • The camp is semi remote.  Fully functional kitchen with running water and electricity.

    • The Camp Cook works independently, under the direction of the Camp Manager, preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks according to camp schedule for a crew of 10-20 employees.

    • The Camp Cook is responsible for kitchen operations, maintaining sufficient groceries in camp, ordering and confirming grocery and kitchen re-supply with the Expediters.

    • Responsible for menu planning, recipes, and preparation, the Camp Cook delivers a well-balanced diet consisting of ‘meat and potato’ fare with plenty of fruits and vegetables, taking into account allergies, dietary requests, and camp preference.

    • Camp Cooks maintain 7-10 days of dedicated food supply in reserve and display menu flexibility, taking into account product on hand, re-supply considerations, and operational cost.

    The kitchen is used by the crew throughout the day, the Camp Cook provides a warm and inviting reprieve from daily operations, necessitating a positive attitude and restraint.

    Camp Cooks must possess, present, and maintain their Alaska Food Worker Card and facilitate kitchen operations according to ADEC standards at all times.

    • Must be able to lift 50lbs and be able to stand for long periods of time.

    • Must be able to work legally in the U.S.

    • Compensation is DOE  

    • Position is seasonal.  Starts the beginning of May and goes through September.

  • Dog Handler

    Juneau, Alaska

    We are looking for energetic, hardworking and adventurous folks to join our team.  We offer dog sledding tours with modified carts in Sheep Creek Valley near Juneau, AK.

    Duties: Dog Handlers will maintain guest safety and assist Mushers getting in and out of dog yards with teams.  Each Dog Handler is responsible for assisting Mushers in conducting safe tours.  Dog Handlers inspect dogs on a daily basis for general health and fitness.  Dog Handlers will work throughout the camp to meet the needs of the day. You may be assigned different duties on any given day at the Camp Manager’s discretion.

    • No experience necessary.  
    • Must be able to legally work in the U.S.
    • Compensation is $2800 a month. 
    • Valid CPR and First Aid certification required. 
    • Must be able to lift 50lbs. 
    • Point of hire is Juneau, AK.  You must get yourself here.  
    • Employees live in wall tents. 
    • Must be available from beginning of May to September.
