Come join our team and learn about working with sled dogs.
Gold Rush Dog Tours offers dry-land cart mushing tours in the historic Sheep Creek Valley located in the mountains behind Juneau.
Join an enthusiastic team sharing the history of the valley and sled dogs to primarily cruise ship passengers.
Mushers and sled dogs come from all over the U.S. providing an outstanding tour and once in a lifetime experience for guests.
Camp is located in a semi-remote valley with spectacular scenery.

Excellent communication, timeliness, ability to work alone or with others is very important. Ability to maintain a friendly and professional attitude with co-workers and guests at all times.
The ideal candidate will be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather. Maintain a positive attitude and proactive manner throughout the workday.
Room and Board
Gold Rush Dog Tours is based in Sheep Creek Valley. Staff will be in traditional wall tents with 2 to 4 people. There is a communal kitchen and lounge with a full-time cook while in camp. There is no charge for room and board while in camp.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Employees will be responsible for getting to Juneau before and after the season. Most people fly into Juneau, although some elect to take the Alaska State Ferry.
Tips about fun things to see and do in Juneau
We will provide transportation from the airport or ferry terminal. Should you decide to drive your own vehicle, there are places to park, however, we are not responsible for loss/theft/damages.
For Fun
There is plenty to do while in Juneau. You have mountains to climb, trails to hike, water to canoe, restaurants to eat at and so much more. Be a tourist for the day and explore downtown or choose to get out and go deeper into the wilderness to see what Juneau has to offer. You won't be disappointed.

Sled Dog Demonstration Tour Handler
Adventure is calling! Join our team of Iditarod, Yukon Quest, and Professional Athletes for the opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Our passion for mushing and the North Country is exemplified by the personal attention guests receive from our staff. As an Alaskan Family Owned and Operated Business, we strive to present guests with an authentic Alaskan Experience.
The season runs from the end of April through the first week of October. Candidates must be available to work the entire season.
Must be able to legally work in the U.S. We are not accepting applicants with visas at this time.
We offer competitive pay, provide housing , and access to a vehicle for local transportation. We are looking for a Handler to assist mushers during Sled Dog Demonstration Tours. Job duties include:
Valid First aid and CPR cards are required prior to season start and must be valid through October.
Must love meeting new people, the ability to get along with coworkers, be a team player, ability to lift 50 lbs., be extremely attentive to surroundings and the safety of others.
Must love dogs and have a positive attitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $3,500.00 per month
Musher
Mush dogs in the picturesque Sheep Creek Valley in Juneau, Alaska!
Mushers provide sled dog cart rides to clients on designated trails. Mushers will maintain a positive outlook and attitude with dogs, guests, and coworkers.
Requirements:
Room and Board provided
Hiring Mushers with or without sled dogs
Prior mushing experience preferred
Seasonal Bonus for completion of the season
