    What will you do?
    • Communicate with Office Coordinator or Laundry Supervisor regarding Housemen needs for linens for the floors and cottage

    • Operate and tend the machines including washing and drying articles, such as sheets, draperies, linens, and carpets ensuring the correct volume of detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives are used as needed

    • Sort, count and put away articles removed from dryers, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laundry closet

    • Inspect soiled articles to determine sources of stains, locate color imperfections, and to identify items requiring special treatment

    • Iron or press articles, fabrics, banquet linens, napkins, spa linen using hand irons or pressing machines

    • Record all loads washed and dried to calculate productivity including loss of linens due to stains, tears and wear

    More about you
    • Ability to work effectively with others in fast-paced environments, using effective communication skills with guests and team members

    • Basic math skills

    • Laundry worker experience in a hotel or other high-volume location is beneficial

    • No experience or diploma required

    What will you do?
    • Create weekly dining room menus from personal or established recipes

    • Supervise food prep maintaining quality, presentation, and sanitation standards, while verifying portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures are maintained

    • Ensure all kitchen equipment is working efficiently, supervising team members with cleaning and food production in their areas, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of walk-ins and freezers, as well as supervising proper breakdown, rotation, labeling, dating, and storage of food

    • Actively maintain food cost within parameters set by culinary leadership

    Groundskeeper

    Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a seasonal Groundskeeper to join our team at Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. As a Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring the appearance and cleanliness of the grounds adhere to company standards.

    What will you do?
    • Mow lawn using hand, power, or riding mower and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls

    • Landscape by planting and watering flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes

    • Sweep walkway of debris and install lawn furniture

    • Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed

    • Trim shrubs and pull weeds

    • Stock firewood to guest rooms

    • Assist maintenance staff with task as needed

    • This position requires driving a company vehicle on a daily basis

    More about you
    • Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in general maintenance or repair for commercial facility required

    • No high school diploma or GED required

    • Possess and maintains a valid driver’s license

    • Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools and paint

    • Ability to use ladders and perform various types of manual labor

    • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally

    • Exposed to outdoor weather conditions in all seasons

    • Coordinate all daily activities and plan for sufficient staffing to clean guest rooms and public areas; assist in the training of new housekeeping team members

    • Inspect guest rooms and public outlets  

    • Prepare weekly inventory, check-in all supplies, and report any discrepancies; inform the Housekeeping Supervisor of needed supplies and create purchase orders as needed

    • Complete the daily housekeeping report; ensure all maintenance requests are handled in an efficient manner pertaining to guest rooms and department equipment

    • Perform cleaning duties on slower days or when staff shortages occur

    • This position requires driving a company vehicle on a daily basis 

    More about you
    • Housekeeping experience required; previous commercial cleaning and/or guest service experience preferred

    • Previous supervisory experience preferred

    • Working knowledge of various cleaning utensils, dryers, vacuum cleaners, tools, and fixtures

    • Ability to read in English; ability to print and speak simple sentences

    • Ability to make simple addition and subtraction calculations

    • No high school diploma or GED required

    • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

    Physical requirements
    • Frequent standing, walking, climbing of stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying; use of hands to operate cleaning equipment and complete scrubbing/washing duties

    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
