Communicate with Office Coordinator or Laundry Supervisor regarding Housemen needs for linens for the floors and cottage
Operate and tend the machines including washing and drying articles, such as sheets, draperies, linens, and carpets ensuring the correct volume of detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives are used as needed
Sort, count and put away articles removed from dryers, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laundry closet
Inspect soiled articles to determine sources of stains, locate color imperfections, and to identify items requiring special treatment
Iron or press articles, fabrics, banquet linens, napkins, spa linen using hand irons or pressing machines
Record all loads washed and dried to calculate productivity including loss of linens due to stains, tears and wear
Ability to work effectively with others in fast-paced environments, using effective communication skills with guests and team members
Basic math skills
Laundry worker experience in a hotel or other high-volume location is beneficial
No experience or diploma required
Exposure to varying temperatures depending on weather and how many machines are in operation at any given time
Frequent standing, bending, walking, and lifting during shifts

Create weekly dining room menus from personal or established recipes
Supervise food prep maintaining quality, presentation, and sanitation standards, while verifying portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures are maintained
Ensure all kitchen equipment is working efficiently, supervising team members with cleaning and food production in their areas, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of walk-ins and freezers, as well as supervising proper breakdown, rotation, labeling, dating, and storage of food
Actively maintain food cost within parameters set by culinary leadership
Perform opening, closing and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines
Minimum two years’ experience as a Line Cook, Lead Line Cook, or Kitchen Supervisor
Ability to effectively communicate with others in a leadership capacity
Attentive and detailed oriented with basic math skills to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements
Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
No college degree required
Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs
Standing, walking, bending for the duration of the shift, occasionally pushing and pulling to move equipment, mops, and brooms

Sweep walkway of debris and install lawn furniture
Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed
Trim shrubs and pull weeds
Stock firewood to guest rooms
Assist maintenance staff with task as needed
This position requires driving a company vehicle on a daily basis
Empty Trash Bins
Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in general maintenance or repair for commercial facility required
No high school diploma or GED required
Possess and maintains a valid driver’s license
Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools and paint
Ability to use ladders and perform various types of manual labor
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally
Exposed to outdoor weather conditions in all seasons

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is seeking seasonal Housekeeping Inspectors to join our team at Skyland Lodge in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. As a Housekeeping Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing the total cleanliness of all rooms.

Coordinate all daily activities and plan for sufficient staffing to clean guest rooms and public areas; assist in the training of new housekeeping team members
Inspect guest rooms and public outlets
Prepare weekly inventory, check-in all supplies, and report any discrepancies; inform the Housekeeping Supervisor of needed supplies and create purchase orders as needed
Complete the daily housekeeping report; ensure all maintenance requests are handled in an efficient manner pertaining to guest rooms and department equipment
Perform cleaning duties on slower days or when staff shortages occur
This position requires driving a company vehicle on a daily basis
Housekeeping experience required; previous commercial cleaning and/or guest service experience preferred
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Working knowledge of various cleaning utensils, dryers, vacuum cleaners, tools, and fixtures
Ability to read in English; ability to print and speak simple sentences
Ability to make simple addition and subtraction calculations
No high school diploma or GED required
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Frequent standing, walking, climbing of stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying; use of hands to operate cleaning equipment and complete scrubbing/washing duties
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Visual acuity is sufficient to inspect the cleanliness of rooms and surfaces
