Communicate with the Office Coordinator or the Laundry Supervisor regarding Housemen’s needs for linens for the floors and the cottage
Operate and tend the machines, including washing and drying articles, such as sheets, draperies, linens, and carpets, ensuring the correct volume of detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives are used as needed
Sort, count, and put away articles removed from dryers, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laundry closet
Inspect soiled articles to determine sources of stains, locate color imperfections, and to identify items requiring special treatment
Iron or press articles, fabrics, banquet linens, napkins, spa linens using hand irons or pressing machines
Record all loads washed and dried to calculate productivity, including loss of linens due to stains, tears, and wear
Ability to work effectively with others in fast-paced environments, using effective communication skills with guests and team members
Basic math skills
Laundry worker experience in a hotel or other high-volume location is beneficial
No experience or diploma required
Exposure to varying temperatures, depending on the weather and how many machines are in operation at any given time
Frequent standing, bending, walking, and lifting during shifts

Greet and acknowledge guests, answer guests’ questions, and assist whenever possible, as well as process returns, with the approval of the supervisor
Processes sales with the appropriate point of sale system, accepts payment, counts change, and bags merchandise
Maintains a clean and organized store or stand with orderly back-stock
Ensure all merchandise is correctly labeled and displayed, notifying the General Manager of defective, mis-marked, mislabeled, incorrectly priced, or damaged merchandise
Clean showers, bathrooms, and laundry room
Stack and/or move wood
Watches for and recognizes security risks and thefts, and reports to security and management
Thoroughly clean and sanitize public areas, guest rooms, and restrooms; empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal area; replenish supplies
Housekeeping duties as assigned
No high school diploma or GED required
Previous experience in cash handling and operating point-of-sale systems required
Previous experience in retail or customer service environment preferred

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a seasonal Food Service Cashier to join our team at Big Meadows Wayside in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. As a Food Service Cashier, you will accurately ring up merchandise and products in an efficient manner.

Greet guests and provide details on items for sale
Participate in set-up, opening & closing procedures, arrange inventory, and notify supervisor of any inventory deficiency or shortages
Perform clean-up duties in the stand to maintain the quality appearance of the work area, including cleaning equipment
Properly record all transactions via the point of sale system and process credit cards, or determine the correct change for guests
Properly hand out To-Go orders and deliver Dine-In orders to their assigned tables
Perform duties in making select menu items
Basic math skills; ability to accurately account for cash and inventory
Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with guests and receive orders
No experience or diploma required
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including walking up and down stairs and lifting as the work duties demand

Coordinate all daily activities and plan for sufficient staffing to clean guest rooms and public areas; assist in the training of new housekeeping team members
Inspect guest rooms and public outlets
Prepare weekly inventory, check-in all supplies, and report any discrepancies; inform the Housekeeping Supervisor of needed supplies and create purchase orders as needed
Complete the daily housekeeping report; ensure all maintenance requests are handled in an efficient manner pertaining to guest rooms and department equipment
Perform cleaning duties on slower days or when staff shortages occur
This position requires driving a company vehicle on a daily basis
Housekeeping experience required; previous commercial cleaning and/or guest service experience preferred
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Working knowledge of various cleaning utensils, dryers, vacuum cleaners, tools, and fixtures
Ability to read in English; ability to print and speak simple sentences
Ability to make simple addition and subtraction calculations
No high school diploma or GED required
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Frequent standing, walking, climbing of stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying; use of hands to operate cleaning equipment and complete scrubbing/washing duties
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Visual acuity is sufficient to inspect the cleanliness of rooms and surfaces
