Currently seeking an AM Lead Cook for an August 2026 start.
We are seeking passionate and organized and AM Lead Cook to join our culinary team at a fast-paced, counter-service restaurant specializing in local ranch beef, wholesome and healthy options, and rotating daily specials. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a love for fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the ability to execute high-quality dishes efficiently. You’ll assist in menu execution, manage kitchen flow during service, uphold food safety protocols, and contribute ideas for specials and seasonal offerings. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a team-driven, high-volume environment.
Role and Responsibilities
Daily Kitchen Operations: Lead and manage morning or evening kitchen operations, ensuring timely prep and smooth service during breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours.
Prep & Execution: Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients (especially local beef and produce), and execute menu items to spec and standard.
Specials Development: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create, test, and implement daily specials that align with our healthy, local-food ethos.
Team Leadership: Supervise prep cooks and line cooks during the AM shift. Provide direction, training, and feedback to maintain a motivated and productive kitchen team.
Quality Control: Monitor food presentation and portion control; ensure consistency, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards.
Inventory & Ordering: Assist in managing inventory, tracking usage, and ordering supplies to minimize waste and control food costs.
Customer Focus: Work closely with the FOH team to ensure fast, friendly, and accurate service in our counter-style environment.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a culinary leadership role, preferably in a fast-casual or counter-service restaurant.
Strong understanding of healthy cooking techniques and sourcing local, seasonal ingredients.
Excellent knife skills, prep efficiency, and ability to manage multiple stations during busy periods.
Ability to create simple, flavorful specials based on available ingredients.
Current Food Handler’s Certification (or willing to obtain).
Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working early morning or late evening hours.
Passion for hospitality, sustainability, and nourishing food.
Work Environment
Fast-paced, collaborative, and team-oriented.
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Shifts include weekends and holidays.
