The Store Associate plays a key role in delivering an elevated, guest-centered experience to everyone who walks through our doors. From offering knowledgeable support on rental gear, apparel, and accessories to maintaining a clean, organized, and guest-ready environment, this role reflects the service standards of Aspen Snowmass. Store Associates go beyond the transaction—building lasting relationships through thoughtful service, anticipating guest needs, and supporting smooth daily operations. This position reports to the Store Manager.
This role will be accepting applications on a rolling basis.
Essential Job Functions / Key Job Responsibilities
Welcome each guest with a friendly, attentive approach that reflects a high standard of service and encourages engagement
Engage guests by listening actively, asking thoughtful questions, and guiding them through rental and retail process with personalized recommendations that enhance their experience and drive sales
Provide knowledgeable guidance on gear, apparel, and accessories by understanding product features, pricing, and resort services to support confident purchases and drive sales
Operate point-of-sale systems and RTP software accurately to process sales, rentals, returns, discounts, and payments in a smooth, timely manner
Maintain accurate cash handling and balance daily transactions with consistency and attention to detail
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor using merchandising techniques that maximize product visibility and sales
Apply meticulous attention to detail and rigorously follow all safety and risk management protocols to guarantee guest safety, satisfaction, and trust in Aspen Snowmass services
Skillfully perform waxing and equipment maintenance to provide guests with top-quality gear that enhances their mountain experience
Support back-of-house operations such as organizing stockrooms, replenishing displays, and assisting with product receiving to keep inventory flow smooth
Monitor for security concerns, help deter theft, and promptly report inventory or cash discrepancies to management
Collaborate with teammates and take initiative to keep shop operations smooth, efficient, and aligned with a guest-first approach

Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 1 year experience in retail sales and direct customer service within a fast-paced, guest-focused environment, emphasizing solution-oriented sales, preferred
Prior experience with rental, ticketing, or reservation software systems preferred
Completion of ski manufacturers’ binding certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of winter sports equipment, apparel, and gear performance to match products to guest needs
Familiarity with industry terminology and merchandising standards that support sales and engagement
Understanding of company policies, POS systems, and rental/retail operations best practices
Knowledge of United States currency, pricing, and accurate transaction handling
Skilled in retail selling techniques that build guest trust and guide purchasing decisions
Ability to communicate clearly and warmly in English; Spanish, Portuguese, or other languages helpful for international guests
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage guests confidently across diverse situations
Ability to maintain a clean, organized sales floor and proactively identify merchandising opportunities
Adaptable and productive in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing guest experience
Collaborative team player committed to service excellence and shared goals
Consistently deliver friendly, knowledgeable, and solution-oriented service that drives repeat business
Take initiative to contribute to overall store operations and a seamless guest experience
Additional Information
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required
Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50 lbs.)
