This is an entry level position with no experience necessary as we will provide the training.

You may be assigned different duties & positions on any given day at the Camp Manager’s discretion based on camp needs.  This position is strenuous and active, often requiring repeated heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.

Tour Attendant:

  • Load/unload guests and cargo from helicopters.

  • Greet guests.

  • Help with selling photos and merchandise.

  • Any other front-of-house duties as needed.

Photographer:

  • Take action and candid shots of guests while on their dogsled tour, as well as other locations.

  • Edit, upload, print & sell photos & retail items to guests.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales, and take payments.

  • This job requires excellent communication, organizational skills, and time management.  It is fast-paced, and requires strong customer service and sales skills.

Handler:

  • Care for sled dogs: feeding & watering, poop scooping, basic dog health and yard care.

  • Harnessing dogs and prepping them for tours.

  • In this role, it is important for you to get to know each dog, as you will have eyes on them the most throughout the day.  You will let the musher know if they aren’t feeling well, or have a medical issue that needs tending to.

If hired, you will be required to pass a background and drug test prior to beginning your employment.

Supported by the greatest staff in the industry, Alaska Icefield Expeditions executes a guest-first approach to glacier dog sledding on the Denver Glacier in Skagway as well as the Herbert, Mendenhall and Norris Glaciers in Juneau.
