POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates all aspects of programs at YMCA Camp Watia, including special events, evening programs, cabin-specific activities, and daily activities. They will maintain the spaces, equipment and storage of all activities to ensure a safe,engaging and innovative experience of the YMCA Camp Watia programs and activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Conducts and maintains an inventory of all camp equipment and program supplies

Occasionally conduct minor repairs to equipment and program supplies when appropriate

Coordinates with Senior Program Director to establish contingency plans for inclement weather or other circumstances that negate the ability to conduct typical events or activities

Collect and compile the needs and wants of counselors required to execute special events including reservations, supplies, and environmental needs

Distributes programmatic resources to counselors to generate morale and maintain the

camper experience through programs

Establish a protocol for a variety of program aspects including usage, storage and care of program equipment and supplies

Coordinate with staff to efficiently set up, execute and clean up/tear down special events

Participates in all activities to show presence with campers and stay familiar with the needs of each program area

Performs daily cabin inspections of each villages, rating them on cleanliness, and provide weekly awards for the “cleanest cabins”

Occasionally refine and present points at the weekly staff meeting for relevant updates regarding program expectations

Other general duties all members of the Leadership Team are responsible for (occasionally locking gates, cleaning and caring for facilities, and assisting with games/special activities)

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 18 years old minimum

High School Diploma

At least 1 year of overnight camping experience

Experience working with children
