Work and Play at a Family-Owned Motel at Yellowstone National Park's North Entrance

This job post has expired.

Join our fun and laid-back motel team at the doorstep to Yellowstone National Park- where elk and deer roam the streets and coyotes and wolves yip and howl in the distance! The small but engaging town of Gardiner, Montana, the park's North Entrance, has been home to this family-owned motel for more than 50 years and we are proud to be an integral part of the greater Gardiner community. We work and play hard at the Yellowstone River Motel, with optional post-work gatherings to celebrate occasions and the cultures of our international teammates.

Housekeepers are trained by our senior staff and have the possibility of taking on additional tasks including maintenance, special cleaning projects, yard work, and laundry. The position requires applicants to be physically able to strip, stock, and clean 12 rooms per day at least five days per week (sometimes a sixth day if the applicant desires or if an unexpected situation arises). Shifts start at 8 am and rooms need to be completed by 4 pm for check in, with 15-minute breaks built in and an (optional) 1/2-hour lunch break off the clock.

Our motel office has a fully equipped kitchen and sitting area that employees may use for breaks and the motel patio with picnic tables overlooking the Yellowstone River is also available for breaks. The best part? Everyone who works and stays at the motel is there because they love Yellowstone! Coworkers share tips on where to look for world-class wildlife, geyser gazing, fishing, and can also recommend fun hikes to explore during your off time. Many of our return guests also have helpful information to share on wildlife and geyser sightings. For those who choose to spend time in the national forest around Gardiner instead of Yellowstone, plenty of local companies offer options for rafting, horseback riding, fishing, and even zip lining.

Gardiner is a walkable community - with a grocery store, laundromat, bank, and post office as well as numerous shops and restaurants - for those who may choose to travel without a personal vehicle, though private transportation is helpful for driving to surrounding towns including Livingston and Bozeman. We provide employee housing that is deducted ($350 total per month) from paychecks that are issued every two weeks with a (refundable) $300 cleaning/damage deposit. The motel officially opens for reservations May 1 2026 and the last day of the season is scheduled to be Oct. 15 2026.
