Adventure Awaits: Join Our Team as a Fishing Guide/Camp Hand this summer

The Yakutat Lodge is looking to hire a Fishing Guide Apprentice / Camp Hand  for our 2026 season. We operate a high-volume Lodge and offer fishing trips down the Situk River and some smaller streams near-by for Sockeye Salmon, Pink Salmon and Silver Salmon. This is a great way to expand your horizon as an angler and learn how to be a professional Guide ( we pay $100 per seat, 2 person minimum)  When not running trips, jump on the maintenance crew and assist with daily lodge tasks and fish processing ( Hourly rate DOE) .  Applicants must have a good attitude and appearance, ability to handle/talk with clients personally. We hire people from all walks of life so it's important to be able to work well with others. Room and board included with the job. All employees are subject to a drug screening. Must have rowing experience.  

The Yakutat Lodge has been in business since the late 80s and has provided our clientele with the finest customer service available in the industry. Applicant will live in a shared housing situation and will have a roommate. Yakutat Alaska is a small fishing village located on the Northern tip of the Alaska Panhandle. There is no road system and the only way to travel is by boat or plane. The town does have some amenities i.e.(grocery stores, post office, gym, medical and dental clinic) but is still pretty remote. We do have Wi-Fi and cell service (AT&T) and there will be ample opportunities to explore and go fishing. Our Perfect candidate will have a professional attitude and appearance, not be a drug addict or alcoholic and be able to handle high pressure situations. We offer a competitive pay DOE with a very generous tip package that will be paid out every two weeks. This is a hands-on, live-in role best suited for someone who enjoys problem-solving, independence, and being part of a small, tight-knit team in a stunning natural setting.
