Beautiful vacation lodge high up in the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming seeking a skilled and adaptable Chef/Lodge Professional!
We are a somewhat small venue able to host between 20 and 30 guests at a time. Our main clientele are off-road riders, hikers, fishermen, and hunters. We are looking for a full-time, seasonal (late June – September 1st, 2026) Chef/Lodge team member to join our crew.
Our lodge is situated in a high alpine meadow 9,000 feet above sea level, surrounded by wildflowers, trout streams, moose, hiking trails, and nearby waterfalls—a truly remote paradise, with the nearest town of Lovell about a 45-minute drive away.
This is a multi-faceted role that combines culinary leadership with general lodge operations. The primary responsibility is managing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu planning, food ordering (Sysco as well as local grocery stores), budgeting, and preparing upscale casual meals for guests. This position requires working directly with our kitchen manager to keep the kitchen organized and operations running smoothly. You will also assist with general lodge duties such as cleaning the main dining room after meals, guest interactions, and supporting front desk operations when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing breakfast and dinner (standard times: 5:30am–9:30am and 4:00pm–7:30pm)
Preparing sandwiches for guest lunches during breakfast prep (approx. 45 minutes)
Menu planning, food ordering, and maintaining organized food storage
Managing all aspects of kitchen cleanliness, dishwashing, and food safety
Accommodating dietary restrictions
Assisting with guest services including check-in/check-out, reservations, and communication via phone/email
Maintaining cleanliness of main dining room after meals are served
This is not a 9–5 job. Peak season can require long days, balanced with time off during the week to explore the surrounding Bighorn National Forest. You will be working closely with a small team in a remote setting, so independence, flexibility, and a strong work ethic are essential.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a chef or strong culinary background (required)
Experience with menu planning, food ordering, and budgeting
Knowledge of dietary restrictions and food safety practices (SERV Safe certification required)
Previous hospitality experience strongly preferred
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Friendly, energetic, customer service–oriented attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Physically fit and able to be on your feet for most of the day
Must have a reliable personal vehicle (a company vehicle is available for lodge errands)
Compensation & Perks:
Salary: $2,000–$2,500/month based on experience, plus a share of gratuities
Onsite housing provided (camper with private bathroom)
Pets allowed (within reason)
Meals included when serving guests
Laundry and Wi-Fi included
Start date: Week of June 22nd, 2026 (flexible)
If you’re someone who takes pride in your work and enjoys living in a remote, beautiful setting, we’d love to hear from you.
