About Wildman Adventure Resort

Wildman Adventure Resort operates two locations offering 8 guided outdoor adventures, showcasing the most challenging whitewater and stunning scenery in the Midwest.

Our primary activities include half-day whitewater rafting and inflatable kayak trips on the Class III Peshtigo River and the exhilarating Class IV Menominee River. Beyond the rapids, we offer a variety of adventures such as high ropes courses, zip-lining, lake kayaking, rock climbing, paintball, and stand-up paddleboarding. Our facilities include a retail store, campground, cabins, glamping, bar, restaurant, and even a golf course, creating a well-rounded outdoor destination.

Wildman started as a business in 1989 from the vision of the original owner, Bill Wildman. What started as a small spot for enjoying a weekend outdoors has blossomed into the largest multi-sport outdoor resort in the Midwest! Still family-owned and operated, the Wildman Team is on a mission to introduce people to the power of outdoor recreation in a safe, equitable, and sustainable way. We know meaningful bonds form through shared experiences, especially those that require a small (or sometimes large) step outside our comfort zones!

Activities run from April through October, with our peak season spanning Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. If you love outdoor recreation and want to share that passion with others, Wildman Adventure Resort is the place to be.

The Employee Experience

Visualize yourself as a member of our high-energy, upbeat, and fun-loving team that shares your passion for the outdoors. At Wildman Adventure Resort, you'll live at no cost in rustic housing nestled among the towering pines of northern Wisconsin.

Every day brings the opportunity to work in a stunning natural environment, surrounded by mature forests and roaring rivers, as you help create impactful experiences for our guests. Whether it's guiding thrilling whitewater trips and leading guests through exciting outdoor activities, or helping a family plan their next epic reunion, you’ll find fulfillment in making memories that last a lifetime.

Our team stays super close as most live on-site out of their tents, vehicles, and hammocks for the summer. Family-style dinners at the outdoor kitchen, floats in tubes down the lazy river, exciting post-work staff river runs, and an impromptu jam sesh near the fire after a long day in the sun are all frequent occurrences during your time at Wildman.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere and love working hard while embracing the great outdoors, Wildman Adventure Resort is the adventure you’ve been looking for.

No experience is required. We are excited to train the right people, just bring the stoke!

Ideal Candidate

The personality that fits: You are a hardworking individual who shares our passion for outdoor adventure and loves sharing that enthusiasm with others. The ideal candidate is upbeat, personable, and thrives in creating meaningful connections with both guests and co-workers. You should be comfortable engaging with strangers, whether it’s helping them with a question, guiding them through an adventure, or addressing a situation in a firm yet professional manner.

Flexibility is key—you adapt easily and are eager to learn new skills. Greeting guests warmly and making them feel welcome comes naturally to you, and you excel at providing information and entertainment that enhances their experience. Your ability to adjust your style to suit different groups ensures every guest has a unique and memorable adventure. You'll have a much different trip with a Girl Scout troop than a bachelor party!

We value team players who are self-motivated and capable of working independently. You can tackle a project with determination and see it through to completion. If you appreciate the beauty of nature, enjoy a simple lifestyle, and don’t mind a scenic 20-minute drive to the nearest grocery store in our rural community, you’ll feel right at home here.

Above all, we’re looking for someone who truly cares about the success of Wildman Adventure Resort and the guests we are fortunate enough to host. You’re invested in helping your team and the company succeed while ensuring every guest has the time of their life.

Room and Board

Lodging is on-site, rustic, and FREE! Depending on which of our two locations you work at, you'll have access to tent sites for your personal tent or a shared cabin. Communal areas include bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, wi-fi access, meal prep stations, simple kitchen space, fridge and freezer access, and areas for you to kick back and relax with your teammates. Group areas are managed by the staff and cleanliness is non-negotiable. Employees are not expected to pay rent but are expected to participate in the weekly chores at each location.

Employee Perks

Onsite housing is included and weekly meals are provided. We offer discounted trips for friends and family along with discounted gear access (HELLO PRO DEALS!) We also offer discounts in the restaurant/bar and retail shops. Our leadership team is committed to helping you develop and grow during your time here.

Getting Here and Getting Around

A personal vehicle is highly encouraged for transportation to/from each resort location and around the local area, but it is not a requirement. If you arrive without a personal vehicle, expect to tag along with your co-workers to make it into town.

    Golf

    Golf Course Superintendent

    $13.00 - $16.00 / hour
    Wildman Adventure Resort

At Bomber’s Golf Course, you’ll be the one who shapes the daily look and feel of our 9 hole course that sits right in the heart of Wildman Adventure Resort. This is a hands on role for someone who enjoys working outside, takes pride in the small details, and likes being part of an energetic resort atmosphere. Your work helps create the quiet moments between the adrenaline of rafting trips and zipline runs, and our guests notice the care that goes into it.

About Bomber’s Golf Course: Bomber’s is not your typical golf course. This isn’t a place for stuffy rules or quiet, head-down rounds. It’s a fun, relaxed 9-hole course with a “golf that doesn’t take itself too seriously” vibe; where big groups are welcome, kids can learn the game without pressure, and everyone feels comfortable jumping in. We let guests play together in larger groups, cheer each other on, and enjoy the course at their own pace. Between holes, people wander into the bar to hang out with our amazing bar staff, grab a drink, and soak in the Wildman energy. You might even delay your tee-shot to watch zip liners going along the outskirts of the course. It’s a place for memories, laughs, and low-stress golf in the Northwoods. Your work helps keep that atmosphere alive.

What You’ll Be Doing: You’ll handle the daily maintenance of the course, including mowing, trimming, watering, and keeping equipment running well. You will work independently most days while staying connected with the larger Wildman team when you need support. Planning ahead and staying consistent helps the course look its best throughout the season.

Specific Skills: Experience with turf care or landscaping is helpful but not required. We’re happy to train someone who is motivated, takes direction well, and wants to learn. Being comfortable working alone is important, along with a willingness to ask for help when needed. Basic mechanical interest is a plus, as you're in charge of keeping our machines running. There are irrigation fixes that you'll learn to make sure you're able to keep water flowing to the sprinklers.

The Personality That Fits: You enjoy a job where you can see the results of your work every day. You’re steady, reliable, and know how to stay focused even when the resort gets busy. You value a simple lifestyle, enjoy being outdoors, and take pride in creating a smooth experience for the guests who use the course.

Who We Are: Wildman Adventure Resort is a small, independent outdoor company with more than 35 years of experience creating unforgettable trips for guests from all over the country. Our team is made up of people who work hard, support each other, and love being part of a fast paced outdoor environment.

Where You’ll Be Working: Bomber’s Golf Course sits on our northern property in the Wisconsin Northwoods. Staff housing is rustic, and you’re welcome to bring your own camper. Tent living is also an option and is common among our new and returning staff members. You'll have access to hot showers, running water, cooking areas, staff lounge and firepit hang out space, and of course the bar and restaurant. The community is a highlight of people's employment here, as well as the unadulterated access to nature!

When You’re Here: This is a full time summer position that runs from early May until the end of September when we shut the course down. Hours vary with weather and resort activity. Early mornings are common, but you have the flexibility to work your hours to fit your flow best.

What You Can Expect From Us: You’ll join a supportive team that values hard work and a positive attitude. Training is provided and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to learn new skills. You’ll be part of a fun, community oriented resort where people gather for meals, river runs, and time outdoors after work.

Think This Job Is For You?

If you take pride in your work, enjoy being outside, and want a meaningful role in a one of a kind resort environment, we’d love to hear from you. Come spend the season in the Northwoods and help keep Bomber’s Golf Course looking its best.
