The selected candidate will begin training in September in preparation for our winter operating season. • Lead daily kitchen preparation, service, and closing procedures.

  • Work hands-on alongside the culinary team during preparation and service.

  • Help develop and execute seasonal menus that reflect the ranch’s prairie-to-plate philosophy.

  • Train, coach, and support culinary team members while maintaining clear performance and service standards.

  • Assist with scheduling, daily assignments, production planning, and kitchen communication.

  • Manage inventory, purchasing, receiving, product rotation, and food-cost controls in coordination with the Executive Chef.

  • Maintain accurate prep lists, order guides, inventory records, and other required administrative documentation.

  • Support banquet, group, staff-meal, grab-and-go, and other auxiliary food programs as needed.

  • Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, consistency, sanitation, organization, and workplace safety.

  • Step into broader kitchen leadership responsibilities in the Executive Chef’s absence.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, Lead Line Cook, or in a comparable culinary leadership role.

  • Strong breakfast and lunch production experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a culinary team.

  • Experience with inventory management, ordering, receiving, food-cost control, and production planning.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to remain composed and effective in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Working knowledge of food-safety and sanitation standards.

  • Willingness to balance administrative responsibilities with daily hands-on cooking.

  • Dependable, professional, team-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and able to meet the physical demands of a professional kitchen.
