Grant’s Restaurant & Bar in Stowe, VT is seeking a dependable, experienced Line Cook with strong grill station experience to join our kitchen team full-time. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced dinner service, takes pride in consistency and presentation, and works well as part of a professional kitchen team.

Located inside The Stowe Village Inn, Grant’s serves elevated comfort food with seasonal ingredients in a welcoming and energetic atmosphere. Our menu includes steaks, burgers, seafood, seasonal specials, and classic dinner favorites prepared with attention to detail and quality.

Position Details

• Full-time position — 40 hours per week

• Schedule: 2:00 PM to close

• Weekend and holiday availability required

• Competitive pay based on experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items to recipe specifications and presentation standards

• Operate and manage the grill station during dinner service

• Cook steaks, burgers, seafood, and other proteins accurately to temperature

• Season and plate food properly and consistently

• Assist with prep work, station setup, and breakdown

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout service

• Communicate effectively with chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods

• Ensure all food is prepared and plated in a timely manner

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards

• Work with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef on inventory, order lists, and daily prep lists

• Assist with closing duties and kitchen cleanup

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Minimum 2 years of line cook experience preferred

• Strong grill cook experience required

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment

• Comfortable working in a smaller kitchen space

• Knowledge of proper cooking temperatures and food handling procedures

• Experience with sauté, fry, and prep stations is a plus

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to stay organized and multitask during high-volume service

• Reliable attendance and punctuality

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
