  • Line cook/ Prep cook

    Kitchen

    The Old Club on Harsens Island is looking for experienced cooks. Experience in Saute, pizza oven, fryer, and grill. Hardworking, motivated and knows when it's time to speed up and get the work done. Full and part time positions available, fast pace kitchen with a full menu including daily specials, homemade soups, pasta's, pizza's, gourmet burgers, steaks and more.. Pay is based on experience and performance.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare ingredients then cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes
    • Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep cost within forecasted range
    • Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by restocking ingredients at work station and meeting prep times to ensure smooth delivery
    • Set up and clean station according to restaurant protocol
    • Maintain a clean work station area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves
    • Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards
    • Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products
    • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the line supervisor, sous-chef, or executive chef
       

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred
    • 1-3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or club setting
    • Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills
    • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
    • Ability to read and follow cooking directions
    • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be organized and self-motivated
    • Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, and lift, and carry heavy materials

    Exclusive Private Island Resort and Yacht Club on Harsens Island is searching for seasonal Full-Time Servers and Servers Assistants to add to our team. The season is May-October. A minimum of one year serving experience in an upscale restaurant is preferred but willing to train. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Know the menu and any daily specials
    • Set up server areas and do fills for shift
    • Set up rooms for events or daily dining services
    • Take orders and serve food to members
    • Cocktail service
    • Deliver checks 

    Candidates should possess:

    • Excellent customer service
    • Knowledge of POS systems
    • Ability to follow the rules
    • Fine dining experience is a bonus but willing to train
    • Ability to multitask and perform in a high paced environment
    • Must be 18 years or older

    • Take orders and serve food to members

The right candidate will be interfacing with members, staff, contracted service personnel, and the public and must be customer-service orientated at all times. The typical work week does not exceed 40 hours.

  • Assistant Dining Services Manager

    Assistant Dining Services Manager (ADSM)


    Brief Job Description:

    The Assistant Dining Services Manager role is critical to the Club’s dining operations and plays an important part in the overall success of the Club. The ADSM works closely with the General Manager, Dining Services Manager, Executive Chef and management team to ensure a high-quality experience for members and guests. The ADSM is a highly visible “hands on” manager expected to engage members and lead, support and work side by side with the service staff) at all times. The ADSM must be anexcellent communicator, have excellent personal interactive skills and know how to make members and guests feel welcome and comfortable.

    The ADSM is responsible for assisting with operations of the Club’s dining rooms and bars to remain within budgetary goals. The ADSM is also responsible for assisting with training, scheduling and discipline of the service staff), and ensuring that standard operating procedures are maintained. He or she must mentor service staff), and maintain a positive work environment and culture of excellence that motivates staff). The ADSM must continually help develop and revise the club’s raining programs and maintain an exemplary relationship with culinary and other clubhouse support staff).The ADSM is also responsible for administering the Club’s POS system, and assist in purchasing alcoholic beverages while maintaining appropriate inventories and monitoring internal cost control procedures. The ADSM maintains a professional image that represents self to the best of abilities and ensures all members are happy at all times. It is expected that the ADSM will focus on getting to know the membership by name and develop strong relationships.

    Qualifications

    A hospitality professional who aspires to bring service to a discerning clientele through hands-on leadership. A desire for promotion within the club industry is highly desirable. Management experience in upscale restaurants, hotels or country clubs. Full understanding of the customer service philosophy. Wine knowledge preferred. Must possess poise in front of guests and have a sense of humor and pleasant personality. Ability to handle fast-paced, constantly changing, high-end environment. Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time and carry heavy service trays over 30 pounds. Ability to communicate with fellow managers, staff), vendors and membership to build relationships. Must have experience as a skilled bartender and server.
