At The Nuhop Center for Experiential Learning, summer camp is more than a job — it’s a chance to make a lasting impact in the lives of children with learning differences, ADHD, autism, and behavioral challenges while building lifelong friendships and leadership skills of your own. If you are energetic, compassionate, adaptable, and ready for an unforgettable summer filled with campfires, laughter, teamwork, and meaningful connections, we would love to meet you.
Our Summer Camp Counselor team works directly with campers ages 6–18 in a residential camp setting located in the beautiful Mohican area of Ohio. Counselors help guide campers through daily activities, including swimming, hiking, ropes courses, crafts, games, evening programs, and cabin life while providing encouragement, structure, and support. Staff work within a strong team environment with mentorship and guidance throughout the summer.
Nuhop’s culture is supportive, inclusive, mission-driven, and fun. Many of our counselors are studying education, psychology, social work, recreation, nursing, or related fields, though experience is not required, just a willingness to learn and a heart for helping kids succeed. Staff receive hands-on training before campers arrive and continue developing valuable communication, leadership, problem-solving, and behavior support skills all summer long.
This is a residential summer position, and room and board are included. Staff live on-site during the camp season, creating a close-knit and memorable community experience. Summer dates run from June through early August.
If you want a summer that matters, one where you leave knowing you truly made a difference, Camp Nuhop is the place for you.
