Year round Head Chef/Kitchen Manager on Beautiful Orcas Island, Washington!

The Madrona Bar and Grill is located directly on the water in downtown Eastsound on Orcas Island. We are currently hiring for a year round, full time chef/kitchen manager. We have competitive pay, free meals, tips and waterfront onsite housing for the right candidate.

We feature fresh seafood, steaks, burgers, sandwiches, pasta and salads. Primarily scratch kitchen with local fresh ingredients. We are fast paced in the summer, laid back in the winter. We are looking for an experienced, fun, enthusiastic professional to join our team.
Pay depends on experience + cash tips.

Position Overview
The Head Chef will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, quality control, staff supervision, and kitchen management. This role requires a hands-on leader who can inspire the small team, maintain high culinary standards, and run an efficient and collaborative kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the kitchen staff.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared with consistency, quality, and presentation standards. Creating daily specials.
• Manage food inventory, purchasing, and cost controls to achieve profitability goals.
• Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with local regulations.
• Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen culture.

Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Deep knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and inventory management.
• Creativity in menu design with a passion for quality ingredients and authentic flavors.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
