🔥 Front of House Manager

The Forge | Put-in-Bay, Ohio
Seasonal Leadership Role | April through November

The Forge is looking for an experienced, confident, and people-first Front of House Manager to help lead one of Put-in-Bay’s most established restaurants. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves hospitality, thrives in high volume, and wants to grow as a manager, not just survive a season.

If you take pride in running a sharp floor, mentoring teams, knowing your menu inside and out, and creating moments guests actually remember, this role is for you.

You will:

• Gain real experience leading a large and diverse seasonal staff in a resort environment

• Be involved in scheduling strategy, service standards, team development, and operational decision-making

• Work directly with ownership and senior leadership, not buried in a hierarchy

• Build skills that translate to year-round leadership roles, multi-unit operations, or future General Manager positions

👥 What You’ll Do

Lead the Team

• Train, schedule, coach, and support FOH staff across all shifts

• Set the tone for professionalism, accountability, and positive culture

• Be present, approachable, and decisive on the floor

🍽 Own the Menu & Guest Experience

• Maintain strong knowledge of brunch, lunch, and dinner menus

• Confidently support and train staff on espresso drinks ☕, cocktails 🍸, and our wine list 🍷

• Be the go-to person for guest questions, recommendations, and special requests

• Handle guest concerns with empathy, confidence, and efficiency

⚙️ Run Strong Operations

• Oversee daily FOH operations including POS systems, cash handling, opening/closing procedures, and FOH inventory

• Keep service flowing smoothly during high-volume periods

🤝 One Team, One House

• Communicate clearly and respectfully with BOH leadership

• Solve problems quickly and keep the guest experience front and center

📋 Stay Compliant

• Ensure health, safety, and liquor laws are followed at all times

• Lead responsible service in a busy, alcohol-forward environment

✅ What We’re Looking For

• 2 to 3+ years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, full-service environment

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team

• Excellent organization, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities

• Availability for the full season (April through November), including nights, weekends, and holidays

• A positive, grounded attitude with genuine passion for hospitality
