Salary: $82,000 - $95,000 Salaried (DOE)

Overview:

We are looking for a Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to build on the current success of the Commonwealth restaurant at Snoqualmie Pass. The Commonwealth has been a community centerpiece over the last 10 years for The Pass Life – a residential development at Snoqualmie Pass at the base of The Summit at Snoqualmie ski area. Come ski, bike, snowboard, hike, paddle – and lead the growth of one of the best mountain restaurants in the Northwest!

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee all aspects of culinary operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong leadership abilities, and extensive experience in menu planning, kitchen management, and food preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute innovative seasonal menus that align with the restaurant’s concept and customer preferences.

  • Oversee all food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring high quality and consistency.

  • Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.

  • Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards, complying with health and safety regulations.

  • Control kitchen costs, including inventory management, portion control, and waste reduction.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.

  • Ensure efficient kitchen operations, optimizing workflow and staff productivity.

  • Monitor customer feedback and adapt menu offerings accordingly.

  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication and service delivery.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef, or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.

  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, international cuisines, and food presentation.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Knowledge of budgeting, food cost control, and inventory management.

  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.

  • Creativity and a passion for culinary excellence.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
