Raft Guide – Talkeetna River Guides (Alaska) We have one spot left to fill! Could you be the lucky one?
Spend your summer on Alaska’s rivers with a locally owned, family-run guiding company that truly loves what we do and where we live.
We’ve got an immediate opening for a raft guide in Talkeetna, the greatest town on earth (according to a highly unbiased group of locals). Want to row visitors down glacial fed Alaskan rivers, under the shadow of the Alaska Range (when the weather allows), soaking up endless midnight sun evenings (when it’s not raining), and join a crew that values hard work, good vibes, and an elite sense of humor?
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Rowing rafts like an absolute legend
• Showing guests the magic of Alaska
• Joyfully declaring rain is “part of the experience”
• Delivering unparalleled customer service, sharing your passion for local natural history, and gracefully answering where are the bears scooping up salmon from waterfalls? FYI not in Talkeetna, that is in Katmai!!
• Living your best summer life
Requirements:
• First Aid / CPR Certified
• Swiftwater Certified
• Available May 17 – September 15
• Positive attitude + good sense of humor
Bonus Points If You:
• Understand that “river musk” is not a substitute for a shower
• Think “weather builds character”
• Enjoy telling strangers what river level means
• Prefer not to attend every festival in Alaska and accidentally turn a 4 month season into a 6 shift career
Added Compensation:
Unlimited bragging rights to casually mention in every future conversation that you were a raft guide in Alaska… because trust us, everybody cares.
Email talkeetnariverguides@gmail.com for more info.
Come for the job. Stay because you accidentally fell in love with Talkeetna.

Applicants must be available for the full season or close to these dates.

Why Work With Us?
Talkeetna River Guides is a local, family-owned business that values community, stewardship, and taking pride in our work. We support our guides, foster a positive team culture, and believe great trips come from people who care deeply about the rivers and the place they call home.
How to Apply
Please send your cover letter and resume to talkeetnariverguides@gmail.com.
Before you hit send, do yourself (and us) a favor, actually look into Talkeetna and TRG. Check out what we do, where we are, and whether our vibe is something you’re genuinely excited about. Stalk our socials, read the TripAdvisor reviews, poke around the website and get a feel for the float trips and the scene.
Alaska is not exactly a quick weekend hop from the lower 48. It’s remote, it’s wild, and it’s a commitment. If this sounds like a dream job but you’re not sure about packing up your life and heading way north… this probably isn’t your summer gig.
We’re looking for people who are ALL IN not “maybe kinda into it if flights are cheap.”
