Join a well-knit crew run a backpackers hostel in Fairbanks, Alaska!

Sven's Hostel is looking for a crew member to help us close out our Summer 2026 season here in Fairbanks, Alaska. 

Start date: July 17- Late September 

This is a paid position plus tips, offering room and board, company vehicle usage, and a summer of fun.

We maintain and operate a small camp including 9 private cabins, 2 treehouse cabins, 2 arctic tents, and 1 mixed gendered dorm.

We are looking for someone that is able to go above and beyond in the following areas:

Guest Services

• Welcome guests and provide a friendly first impression.

• Handle check-ins, check-outs, and reservations.

• Answer guest inquiries in person, by phone, or online.

• Provide information about local attractions, transportation, and activities.

• Resolve guest concerns professionally.

Housekeeping

• Clean and prepare dormitories, private cabins and treehouses, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas.

Maintenance and General Duties

• Perform basic maintenance tasks when required.

  Requirements

  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or housekeeping is an advantage.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Basic computer skills for reservations.

  • Must be able to legally work in the U.S.
