Spend the winter immersed in the best of Alaska as you learn to care for and train alongside a team of competitive racing sled dogs.
Our small, family-run kennel in Talkeetna is seeking a dedicated handler to join us for the season. If you love dogs, hard work, and a true mushing life, this is a unique chance to be part of something meaningful.
As a Dog Handler you’ll help with daily dog care, feeding, cleaning, training runs, gear prep, general kennel chores, and tours. No prior mushing experience is required, just a strong work ethic, love for dogs, and willingness to learn.
We are a passionate racing kennel focused on building strong, happy dogs and fostering a positive team environment. Our dogs are our family and their well-being always comes first.
We are located in Talkeetna, Alaska, home to beautiful winter trails, big mountains, and a tight-knit community. Enjoy Denali views from the property and the dog sled trails.
The position runs through the winter season, typically September through May (snow dependent), with preference given to applicants who want to stay on for the summer. We provide a private dry cabin for our handler (approximately 400 sq ft), with access to on-site shower and laundry.
This is a rare opportunity to experience real racing kennel life, work closely with elite canine athletes, and spend a winter learning skills you won’t find anywhere else, all in one of Alaska’s most beautiful settings!
