Our property includes private guest cabins, a top rated steakhouse, and a rustic event lodge where we host weddings and gatherings throughout the summer season. We focus on quality ingredients, well-executed meals, and a relaxed mountain atmosphere that keeps guests returning year after year.

Unlike many larger operations in the national park area, Summit Mountain Lodge is a small, privately owned and family-run business. Our team works closely together in a supportive environment where communication is direct, expectations are clear, and everyone plays an important role in delivering a memorable guest experience.

The restaurant operates dinner service only, allowing staff to enjoy their mornings exploring the incredible outdoor recreation surrounding East Glacier. Hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, and mountain adventures are all right outside the door.

We value a respectful, professional environment where everyone supports one another and keeps service running smoothly. While our menu and systems are already established, there is room for creativity through daily specials developed together throughout the season. We’re looking for someone who enjoys the intensity of a busy summer season and takes pride in finishing what they start as part of a small, dependable team. 

Summit Mountain Lodge has a diverse and multicultural team, and Spanish is commonly spoken among staff. Spanish-speaking applicants are welcome, and we enjoy working with team members from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Typically, we include approx. 10 different countries.

Our kitchen systems are well established, and we value team members who appreciate teamwork, reliability, and finishing the season strong.

Staff housing is provided on the lodge property and includes a private furnished bedroom with a private bathroom and sink, offering comfort and privacy throughout the season. 

The housing unit is shared with other team members (typically up to eight staff total), with each person having their own private room. 

Residents share a fully equipped communal kitchen and comfortable living area with everything needed to cook, relax, and unwind after work. The housing is clean, quiet, and conveniently located just steps from the lodge and restaurant, creating a comfortable home base for the summer.

Enjoy the unique opportunity to spend the summer living and working just minutes from Glacier National Park. With dinner-only service, mornings and early afternoons are often free to explore the area, hike, fish, or simply enjoy the mountains. Staff also benefit from comfortable on-site housing and being part of a small, supportive team in a family-owned lodge environment.

Summit Mountain Lodge is located in East Glacier Park, Montana, about 1.5 hours from Glacier Park International Airport. Many employees fly into the airport and then travel to East Glacier by car or train. East Glacier Park also has an Amtrak station, making it convenient for those arriving from cities such as Chicago and other destinations along the Amtrak line. While it is possible to arrive by train, having a personal vehicle is highly recommended for exploring the area during the summer, as Glacier National Park and the surrounding wilderness cover a large and beautiful region.

Living and working in East Glacier puts you right next to one of the most spectacular outdoor playgrounds in the country. On your days off or free mornings, you can explore Glacier National Park with endless hiking trails, alpine lakes, mountain views, and incredible wildlife. Popular activities include rafting on nearby rivers, fishing in clear mountain streams, and exploring scenic drives like Going-to-the-Sun Road.

The surrounding area also offers unique cultural experiences through the nearby Blackfeet Nation, where summer powwows and community events celebrate the traditions of the region. Whether it’s hiking, rafting, fishing, or simply enjoying Montana’s big skies and fresh mountain air, there’s always something to experience during the summer season.
