Wrangler Position at Spotted Horse Ranch
The Wrangler role is essential to the heart of our ranch. As the face of top-tier service, you'll be deeply involved in our main attraction, the horses! Wranglers play a key role in delivering an exceptional experience to both our guests and staff. With hundreds of applicants vying for this position, we carefully select individuals who excel in teamwork, thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and are committed to safety. About Spotted Horse Ranch and the Wrangler Role:
Our season runs from May through October, and we are looking for team members who can commit through October 31. Wranglers who fulfill their contract through the end of the season are eligible for an end-of-season bonus. The compensation package includes shared housing and three meals per day. During your employment, you’ll be expected to live on the ranch.
Wrangler Team Responsibilities:
As a member of the Wrangler team, you’ll take immense pride in your work, ensuring that you maintain your duties with enthusiasm and precision. Professionalism is a must, whether you’re on or off shift. You'll be part of a hardworking team, and clear communication is vital to delivering exceptional service. Flexibility and resourcefulness are key, as your day-to-day responsibilities may evolve.
Wrangler Duties Include:
Be an integral presence on the ranch, guiding and ensuring the safety of guests when interacting with horses.
Arrive early for your shift, prepared to tackle any task with a positive attitude.
Handle the physical aspects of the job, including labor-intensive outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Provide riding instruction to guests of all skill levels.
Maintain cleanliness by promptly removing horse manure from the ranch grounds.
Keep the barn organized and perform routine tack maintenance.
Crosstrain as a shuttle driver to transport guests to various activities such as airport pick-ups, rafting trips, rodeo evenings, and visits to Astoria Hot Springs.
Deliver exemplary customer service to guests of all ages.
Respond quickly to tend to and care for injured horses.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of hunting camps at the start and end of the season and ensuring they stay fully stocked with necessary supplies.
Participate in ranch maintenance tasks such as fence repairs, irrigation work, hay loading, and heavy lifting.
Maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
Always prioritize guest safety.

With 70 horses and access to miles of surrounding trails, the ranch offers a true Old West experience for guests and staff to enjoy the rugged charm of a traditional dude ranch.
