The Cabin Staff position combines both Housekeeping and Dining Services and plays a vital role in the guest experience. As part of this team, you’ll be at the forefront of providing top-tier service, interacting daily with guests and fellow staff members. A positive attitude, a love for the outdoors, and the ability to engage with a wide variety of personalities are essential for this role.

More About Spotted Horse Ranch and the Cabin Staff Position:

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Guest Cabin Cleaning: Making beds, cleaning toilets, showers, handling laundry, performing general maintenance, and restocking essentials. Efficient turnover service is crucial.

  • Cleaning Common Areas: Tidying up the main lodge, office, kitchen, and other shared spaces, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and window cleaning.

  • Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance: Planting and watering flowers, picking up trash, and ensuring the ranch grounds remain pristine.

  • Cross-Training: You’ll also be trained in Child Care, Dog Sitting, and Guest Services (Bartending requires a minimum age of 21) to step in as needed.

  • Kitchen Duties: Keeping the kitchen clean at all times, dishwashing after meals, and maintaining kitchen equipment. You may also assist chefs with meal prep and expected presentation.

  • Dining Service: Adhering to dress code (western wear), waiting tables, serving food, and communicating clearly with the kitchen staff to ensure proper meal presentation. You’ll also bus tables as needed and be available for guest requests.

  • Outdoor/Indoor Cookouts: Set up, service, and clean-up for cookout events.

The Cabin Staff team is expected to take great pride in their work, maintaining responsibility with enthusiasm and attention to detail. Professionalism is required on and off shift. As part of a hardworking team, clear communication is key to delivering exceptional service. Your responsibilities may shift daily, and the ability to adapt and be resourceful is essential.


About Spotted Horse Ranch:

Founded in 1963 as a dude ranch, Spotted Horse Ranch is located about 1.5 hours south of Yellowstone and half an hour from Grand Teton National Park. The beautiful Hoback River flows through the property, which backs up to the Bridger-Teton National Forest, offering miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding. We also have two backcountry hunting camps that serve guests in the summer and fall.

Employees enjoy weekly cookouts with live entertainment and have the chance to interact socially with guests. Additionally, you’ll have access to the stunning scenery, which offers opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, and fly fishing during your time off. The town of Jackson is just 20 minutes away, offering great restaurants, unique shopping, museums, art galleries, and a lively nightlife scene.


Employment Season:

Our season runs through the end of October. 

Your salary package includes shared housing and three meals per day during your employment. Employees earn an "end of the season" bonus if the contract is completed! You are expected to live on the ranch while working.
