About Spacious Skies Campgrounds

Spacious Skies Campgrounds is a fast-growing, mission-driven outdoor hospitality company operating a collection of unique campgrounds across the eastern United States. Founded in 2021, we’ve built a brand rooted in genuine inclusion, exceptional guest experience, and a belief that the outdoors belongs to everyone.

We welcome RVers, tent campers, cabin guests, and glampers from every walk of life — and our partnerships with Black Folks Camp Too, LGBT Outdoors, Girl Camper, RVShare, and Latino Outdoors are a direct reflection of that commitment. Our work has been recognized in Travel + Leisure, Southern Living, Women’s Day, and MSN. We are a company that moves with intention, operates with heart, and leads with culture.

 The Opportunity

The General Manager at Spacious Skies is a full P&L owner, a team builder, and a brand steward — a polished hospitality operator who can run a multi-faceted property with the same rigor and guest-focus you’d bring to a boutique hotel or resort.

As General Manager, you are the on-site leader responsible for every dimension of the campground’s success: guest satisfaction, team culture, financial performance, and facility standards. You are the face of the brand in your community, the first call when something goes wrong, and the driving force behind what goes right.

This role includes on-site housing — a cozy, private residence with all utilities covered. The home is well-suited for an individual or a couple, and is pet-friendly. Living on property is not just a perk; it’s what allows this role to operate at the level it demands.

What You’ll Own

•      Lead all campground operations end-to-end — guest services, maintenance, housekeeping, retail, and programming.

•      Hire, develop, and retain a motivated, high-performing team that reflects the values of the brand.

•      Drive financial results: manage the operating budget, monitor revenue, control costs, and deliver on NOI targets.

•      Own the guest experience from first impression to final checkout, resolving concerns and creating memorable moments at every touchpoint.

•      Maintain the physical property to a high standard — ensuring cleanliness, safety, and a sense of pride in every corner of the campground.

•      Represent Spacious Skies in the surrounding community, building local relationships that support awareness and growth.

•      Collaborate with the corporate team on pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and brand programs.

•      Serve as the on-call leader for after-hours needs and unexpected situations — responding with calm, judgment, and confidence.

•      Ensure compliance with all local, state, and company-level safety and regulatory requirements.

What You Bring

•      3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, property management, tourism, parks & recreation, or a related guest-services field.

•      A genuine hospitality instinct — you lead with warmth, handle adversity with grace, and take pride in the details that matter to guests.

•      Proven ability to manage budgets, track revenue, and make data-informed operational decisions.

•      Experience hiring, coaching, and developing teams in a dynamic, service-oriented environment.

•      Strong communication skills — with guests, with your team, and with a remote corporate partner.

•      Comfort with technology, including reservation and POS platforms, Microsoft Office, and basic digital tools.

•      Willingness to work non-traditional hours during peak seasons, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

•      Valid driver’s license; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. CPO certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).

•      A genuine enthusiasm for the outdoors — you don’t have to be a lifelong camper, but you should love the environment you’re leading in.

Why This Role

•      Competitive base salary with performance-based quarterly bonuses.

•      Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.

•      Generous paid time off, floating holidays, and a 401(k) with company match.

•      On-site housing and utilities provided — a private, pet-friendly residence that makes living where you work genuinely comfortable.

•      Join a company that is growing fast and doing things differently — with leadership that values your input and invests in your success.

•      An inclusive, people-first culture that doesn’t just talk about values but builds them into how the business operates every day.

Spacious Skies Campgrounds is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every team member can thrive.

If you’re a hospitality leader ready to take full ownership of a growing property — and build something worth being proud of — we’d love to meet you.
