SouthFork Lodge is a boutique mountain lodge located in the heart of the Boise National Forest along the South Fork of the Payette River. Originally established in 1937, the property is being thoughtfully reimagined into a destination centered around elevated hospitality, outdoor adventure, and exceptional food experiences inspired by Idaho's mountains, rivers, and seasons.
Our kitchen features a fresh, evolving menu built around seasonality, creativity, and guest experience. From mountain comfort classics to refined lodge cuisine, every plate reflects the landscape that surrounds us.
We're looking for a passionate Line Cook or Sous Chef who wants to work alongside an experienced Executive Chef while helping shape a growing culinary destination.
Position Overview
This is more than a traditional kitchen position.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, consistency, teamwork, and delivering memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate enjoys working with fresh ingredients, embraces seasonal menu changes, and wants to be part of building something special in one of Idaho's most scenic locations.
Responsibilities
Prepare and execute menu items with consistency and attention to detail
Work directly alongside the Executive Chef on seasonal and rotating menus
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
Assist with daily prep, service, and kitchen operations
Uphold food safety and sanitation standards
Adapt to changing service demands
Collaborate with both front-of-house and kitchen staff
Qualifications
Previous line cook or kitchen experience preferred
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Ability to perform in a fast-paced kitchen
Team-oriented with a willingness to learn
Passion for hospitality, food, and the outdoors
Knife skills and solid kitchen fundamentals preferred

Our team can choose the schedule that best fits their lifestyle:
Condensed Schedule: Work approximately 40 hours over 3½ days, with housing provided while you're on shift, leaving several days each week to explore Idaho or spend time at home.
Full-Time Lodge Living: Live on the property and spread your 40-hour workweek over a traditional schedule while enjoying the mountain lifestyle full time.

- Team members have the option to stay in our on-property six-bedroom bunkhouse. Some employees choose to work full-time by condensing their shifts into 3.5-day workweeks and travel back to Boise. Others prefer to live on-site and work 5–6 days a week with shorter, more flexible daily shifts. As we continue to grow through mid-summer, individual one-bedroom cabins will be available for key staff
