Cook. Learn. Lead.

SouthFork Lodge is not just a restaurant—it's a destination.

Located along the South Fork of the Payette River in the heart of the Boise National Forest, our historic lodge dates back to 1937 and is entering an exciting new chapter. Under new ownership, we are building a hospitality experience centered around great food, outdoor adventure, and authentic Idaho mountain culture.

We're looking for an ambitious Sous Chef or experienced Line Cook who wants more than just another kitchen job. This is an opportunity to work directly alongside an Executive Chef with more than 40 years of culinary experience, learning the craft, refining your skills, and helping shape the future of a growing culinary program.

If you're passionate about food, eager to learn, and ready to take the next step in your career, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Work directly with our Executive Chef on daily menu execution

  • Assist with prep, service, specials, and seasonal menu development

  • Learn advanced culinary techniques and kitchen leadership skills

  • Help maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards

  • Support inventory, organization, and kitchen operations

  • Contribute ideas and creativity in a collaborative environment

  • Help create memorable dining experiences for lodge guests

What We're Looking For

You don't need to know everything.

We're looking for someone with:

  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude

  • Passion for cooking and hospitality

  • Ambition to grow into a leadership role

  • Willingness to learn from experienced mentors

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Pride in craftsmanship, consistency, and attention to detail

Whether you're an experienced line cook ready for the next step or a sous chef looking for a unique opportunity, we're interested in people who want to grow.

Why SouthFork?

  • Work in the Boise National Forest

  • Learn directly from an Executive Chef with 40+ years of experience

  • Staff housing available with private rooms

  • Unique schedule: Many team members work approximately 40 hours over 3.5 days, then enjoy 3.5 days off

  • Competitive compensation and lodge-wide bonus opportunities

  • Fishing, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, hot springs, and adventure right outside your door

  • Opportunity for growth as SouthFork continues to expand its culinary and hospitality programs

The Right Fit

This position is ideal for someone who sees cooking as a career, not just a job.

Someone who wants to build skills, take ownership, learn leadership, and become part of a team creating something special in one of Idaho's most beautiful places.

If you're ready to cook with purpose, learn from the best, and help build the next chapter of SouthFork Lodge, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and spend your season where others vacation.
