The Role

As a Landscaper / Groundskeeper at Smith Fork Ranch, you will play a vital role in maintaining the visual integrity and functionality of the ranch’s outdoor spaces. This position is hands-on and detail-driven, focused on caring for existing landscaping, lawns, gardens, and irrigation systems to ensure all grounds remain pristine, healthy, and guest-ready throughout the season. Working closely with the ranch and facilities teams, you will support daily upkeep as well as seasonal landscape projects, all while maintaining professionalism and discretion in a guest-facing environment.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing landscaped areas through regular weeding, mowing, pruning, and bed care

  • Perform seasonal planting, soil preparation, and general landscape upkeep in alignment with ranch standards

  • Operate, monitor, and perform basic maintenance on irrigation systems, identifying leaks or inefficiencies

  • Water lawns, gardens, and planted areas according to seasonal needs and environmental conditions

  • Safely operate landscaping equipment and tools, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools

  • Assist with maintaining pathways, outdoor gathering areas, and common spaces to a luxury presentation standard

  • Identify and communicate plant health concerns, irrigation issues, or grounds-related maintenance needs

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces, equipment, and storage areas

  • Work with awareness of guests on property, maintaining a polished, professional presence at all times

  • Support additional ranch or facilities projects as needed to ensure seamless operations

Qualifications

  • Previous professional landscaping or groundskeeping experience required

  • Strong working knowledge of plant care, lawn maintenance, and irrigation systems

  • Proven experience operating landscaping equipment and power tools safely and efficiently

  • High attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship and presentation

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities

  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and reliability

  • Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions

Work Requirements

  • Ability to walk, kneel, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to lift and relocate up to 50 pounds as needed

  • Comfortable working with power equipment, hand tools, and irrigation systems

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as dictated by the guest season
