Seward Helicopters & Turning Heads Kennel is hiring Mushers / Handlers for our 2025 Summer Season!

We are looking for mushers/handlers to live and work on Godwin Glacier. Candidates must have either extensive remote living, OR guiding in remote settings OR prior mushing/ kennel/ animal experience. 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Feeding and caring for dogs

  • Safely loading and unloading the helicopters

  • Monitor the environment for both guest and dog safety 

  • Giving tours, (including sled rides, taking photos and helping guests meet the athletes and puppies)  

  • Taking photos for guests and sharing information about the sport of mushing 

  • Keeping camp and kennel area clean

Preferred Previous Experience:

  • Driving sleds (experience preferred but not required, willing to train the right individual to mush) 

  • Working and living with a small team 

  • Living in a remote location 

  • Days can be long and the work physically demanding, preference will be given to those with similar prior experience

Qualifications Required:

  • Remote living, AND/ OR previous guiding AND/ OR animal care (such as working at a kennel or with horses) AND/ OR mushing *this needs to be shown in your resume or cover letter in order to receive an interview 

  • Must love dogs! 

  • Terrific customer service

  • Team player 

  • Thrives in remote environments 

  • Enjoys being in helicopters 

  • Safety-oriented and attention to detail

Seward Helicopters and Turning Heads Kennel are sister companies that work together to provide our most popular tour, Helicopter Glacier Dog Sledding. We are a small family-run business set in a beautiful little Alaskan town. There is tons to do and explore on your off time! 

There will be basic shared housing provided, pay is per day plus tips and there is an end of the season bonus!
