Artisan Pizza - Small Scratch Kitchen - Fresh Water Shores of Lake Michigan

Sam’s Graces Cafe is a 55- seat, scratch, cozy cafe in the gaslight district of downtown Petoskey, Michigan, located steps away from Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan.

We are currently hiring to fill the roll of someone who is diverse and flexible in everything pertaining to kitchen work. Our cafe is small but very busy- this role is best suited for individuals who like to move fast and stay busy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manning the dishpit on scheduled days which includes washing dishes, silverware, glassware, pots and pans, cleaning sinks, sweeping/mopping floor, disposing of trash

• Assist with daily kitchen prep

• Roll out pizza dough, top pizzas and bake pizzas in a wood-fired brick oven

• Prep and maintain organization and cleanliness of pizza station

• Assist line cooks with daily closing tasks

  
  Ideal candidates:

• Owns a personal vehicle to transport themselves to the cafe and back

• Punctual, reliable, dedicated and considerate

• Understands teamwork 

• Is able to follow specific recipes and instructions 

• Has impeccably clean and sanitary habits 

• Genuinely enjoys high quality, local food and the importance of not being unnecessary wasteful 

• Is able to lift 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, lift hands over head and climb on ladders

• Brings high energy and a positive attitude to the workplace 

Housing is a shared apartment located 20 miles north of the cafe, in the country on 6 peaceful, wooded acres. The cost of housing is $200 per month. 

No meals or essentials are provided by employer. All modern amenities are within driving distance from the cafe or housing.
