Rocky Mountain Youth Corps is an organization that is centered around environmental stewardship and outdoor recreation with values in adaptability, service, fortitude, integrity, and joy. We have roughly 14 year-round staff members and 200 seasonal AmeriCorps members who we strive to align with our mission to empower and engage young people to lead healthy and productive lives. Co-lead 7-20 youth participants in the outdoors (frontcountry AND backcountry)
Teach 6th-12th grade youth how to care for the environment with summer conservation projects such as trail construction, trail maintenance, fence installation or repair, invasive species removal, and wildfire mitigation projects alongside federal agencies such as the forest service or Colorado Parks and Wildlife
Lead outdoor experiential education for 6th and 7th graders in a school field trip based program in the fall for all schools in our valley
Seasonal position from May 4, 2026 to October 10, 2026 with opportunities for winter housing and priority future employment
Camping at our headquarters is available all season
$800/ week (pre-tax, paid biweekly)
Cell phone reimbursement: $45/month
All food is paid for during training and during overnights with youth
Showers and laundry are compensated for on a weekly basis during training and during youth sessions operating under a 24/7 model in the summer season
