Have you ever wanted to learn to work on log homes? Have you dreamed of living in Montana where hunting and fishing abound, skiing/snowboarding, hiking, mountain biking are all daily activities? People are friendly, there are lots of live music venues, breweries and restaurants! It is a great place to live!

We are a 28 year established business located in Livingston MT. We are looking to add a seasonal (approximately April-December) member to our team to assist with chinking (applying synthetic mortar) log homes around the state of Montana. This job entails heavy lifting (65 lbs) and working from ladders and/or scaffolding.

We are a small, fun and laid back but very hard working crew. Some out of town work requiring multiple nights away from home is to be expected though the majority of our work is local. Check out our website to get a glimpse of what we do! RocheJauneChinking.com | FB: Roche Jaune Chinking Inc.

We absolutely love dogs but unfortunately this job isn't conducive to them.  Between  housing availability, job sites that don't allow them, long days and out of town work the logistics make it tough.

We offer:

  • $30/hr ( or $25/hr plus $400/mo housing allowance or $400/mo rent for a room in company housing)with one way paid drive time along with overtime available if wanted

  • Transportation to the job site is provided from our shop in Livingston MT

  • Benefits available after time with potential for subsidized housing for the right candidate

  • No experience necessary (jobsite experience a plus)

This is from Mara, a gal that worked with us for 3 years:

"Working for Roche Jaune Chinking is fundamentally the confluence of the trades world and summer camp. If you enjoy working outside, engaging your body and mind, working in a small crew, and ending the occasional day playing cornhole and camping across Montana's breathtaking landscape then you might just be a great fit for RJC. Every job is uniquely its own and offers endless moments for development and engagement, at times facing challenges but always alongside the support of our innovative and optimistic crew. Working at RJC has brought me consistent daily laughter, a tougher work ethic, a newfound confidence in the world of construction, and a greater appreciation and knowledge of this big beautiful state!"

ANYONE with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic who is physically fit enough for this position is encouraged to apply. We do not discriminate based on ANYTHING!!!  However, you * MUST * have a clean driving record, a valid driver's license, your own transportation to get to our shop each morning and no criminal history. No chinking experience necessary but basic knowledge of construction sites is helpful. Come work for a small company where you will be appreciated and compensated for your efforts!
