We’re building something special in Escalante at our newly opened Roasted Root Cafe and are looking for energetic, dependable seasonal team members to join our growing restaurant. Located near some of the most stunning outdoor destinations in the country, our restaurant serves travelers, locals, and adventure-seekers looking for great food and genuine hospitality.

Open Positions

• Innkeeper

All seasonal hires are provided shared housing and can expect to work between 35-40 hours/week. 

Line Cook- $18/hr plus housing 

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items consistently and efficiently

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations

• Assist with food prep and inventory management

• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff during busy service periods

• Follow food safety and sanitation standards

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or line experience preferred

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to detail and teamwork

• Dependable and punctual

Prep Cook- $16/hr plus housing

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and food items for daily service

• Assist with portioning, chopping, sauces, doughs, and kitchen setup

• Maintain a clean and organized prep area

• Support kitchen operations and inventory organization

Qualifications

• Kitchen or food prep experience preferred, but willing to train the right person

• Strong work ethic and organizational skills

• Ability to multitask and follow instructions

Server- $10/hr plus tips and housing

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and attentive guest service

• Take orders accurately and deliver food efficiently

• Answer menu questions and make recommendations

• Maintain a clean and welcoming dining environment

• Work closely with kitchen and hospitality staff to ensure excellent guest experiences

Qualifications

• Previous serving or hospitality experience preferred

• Strong communication and people skills

• Positive attitude and ability to stay calm under pressure

• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays

Innkeeper- $20/hr plus housing

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist guests throughout their stay

• Coordinate check-ins, check-outs, and guest communication

• Monitor property presentation, cleanliness, and overall guest readiness

• Respond promptly to guest questions, requests, and concerns

• Help coordinate housekeeping, maintenance, and daily operational needs

• Work alongside restaurant staff to coordinate seasonal hires

• Work alongside Guest Services to ensure memorable guest experience

• Assist with turnovers on busy days

Qualifications

• Hospitality, lodging, customer service, or related experience preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Organized, dependable, and capable of working independently

• Comfortable problem-solving and handling guest needs professionally

• Ability to commit to the season with the option to continue in a full-time capacity 

• Appreciation for hospitality, outdoor travel, and experiential lodging
