Alaska:

Lake Creek is one of south central Alaska’s most famous streams, primarily due to its superior salmon runs. King Salmon use Lake Creek and Chelatna Lake as a spawning site and return in large numbers we also have abundant numbers of Rainbow Trout, Arctic Grayling and Northern Pike. Lake Creek is a clear, swift gravel bottom river that flows 57 miles from it’s headwaters at Chelatna Lake to the Yentna River.

Alaska is rugged and wild with glaciers, countless rivers and lakes, majestic mountain peaks, some active volcanoes, and nearly 34,000 miles of tidal shoreline. North America's highest peak, Mt. McKinley ( or Denali ) at 20,320 ft., is located in Alaska. On a clear day you can see Mt. McKinley from the yenta river.

The area at Lake Creek is a wild untamed yet beautiful place at the same time. If you love the outdoors and are a passionate chef, you will have an experience that most culinarians will only dream about. You will have the opportunity to make lifelong friends. And carry this experience and memories with you for the rest of your life. Later in the season if nature is working in our favor you might the chance to see the famous Northern lights.

Housing/meals: We provide employee housing. Two same sex employees per cabin . A separate shower facility is provided with his and hers sections and private showers and toilets. Employee meals are served at regularly scheduled mealtimes in the staff dining room. All meals are prepared by Riversong’s outstanding chefs.

Transportation: Riversong Lodge is a remote fishing lodge which requires employees to take a 40 minute float plane flight from Anchorage to our lodge. We cover your flight to Riversong when you arrive in Anchorage to begin the season and at the end of the summer back to Anchorage. Employees will need to make their own arrangements arriving to and departing from Alaska.

Requirements:

The Chef will be responsible for menu planning, provisioning, food preparation, and sanitation. The position demands creativity on a daily basis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards working at remote fishing lodge. Applicant should also work well under pressure, be organized, flexible, self-motivated, willing to work hard, and have a great sense of humor. Supervisory experience would be beneficial as well. Requirements include a minimum of 5 years full-service, high quality restaurant experience. Culinary degree or equivalent experience is also required. Other pluses include, a positive mental attitude, well groomed, and an outgoing personality.

Knowledge of statutory requirements regarding health and safety, sanitation, proper chemical usage, fire procedures, and ServSafe/ HACCP and Sanitation guidelines Knowledge of all kitchen equipment operations, ability to read, write and understand English Ability to perform basic/intermediate math skills Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management, staff, and guests to ensure guest satisfaction Lead daily kitchen and stewarding operations to ensure the proper production of food items and kitchen compliance with company policies and procedures

Ensures adherence to established standards.

Assist the Owners in managing food costs and labor productivity according to financial guidelines.

Oversee proper requisition, storage, utilization and inventory of food products.

Able to lift 50# Perform other duties as assigned.

Front House Staff: 

Front House staff is responsible for meeting and greeting guests, making sure the coffee bar is stocked and in order, cleaning around the main lodge and dining area, table settings, assisting with food service during dinner time and general hospitality. 


Housekeeping: 

Housekeeper would be responsible for making up beds and changing out cabins between guests, laundry,  cleaning, and general appearance around cabins and lodge. Some things that would be included would be care of the flowers and plants around the lodge and cabins.

We are 70 air miles northwest of Anchorage on the southern bank of the Yentna River at the confluence of Lake Creek and accessible by floatplane only.
