About Red Pine Camp for Girls
At Red Pine, we are committed to inspiring and enabling young women to reach their full potential in a safe, healthy, and fun environment. Our program and activities are firmly rooted in an appreciation for our natural surroundings, the development of athletic skill, and a respect for one another as individuals. We recognize and promote the values of integrity, leadership, grace, compassion, and character in every camper.
So is camp still fun? You bet!!! We can’t accomplish any of our goals without making sure camp is a blast. But it’s fun with a purpose. We want our campers to grow, to pursue big dreams, to serve others, to make a difference in the world around them. We know that every one of our campers has what it takes—we just try to bring out the best in each camper!
Nothing is of more vital importance to a successful camp than an excellent staff. It is essential that those who share their summers with young girls exert a positive influence. Each member of Red Pine's staff must meet high standards of maturity, character, experience, and personal warmth, in addition to being a specialist in a field of instruction.
The Employee Experience
Spending a summer on staff at Red Pine Camp in the Northwoods of Wisconsin is equal parts meaningful work and unforgettable adventure. Counselors come into a close-knit community built on teamwork, positivity, and a shared commitment to making camp magical for every camper. Days are full of laughter, lake time, songs, teaching fun and important activities, and being the kind of role model that campers remember long after summer ends. Staff quickly become friends for life, supporting each other through early mornings, silly traditions, rainy-day activities, and all the small moments that make camp feel like its own world. Many counselors say their summer is incredibly rewarding, memorable, and something they’ll never forget—not just because it’s fun (though it absolutely is), but because they can truly see the impact they have as campers gain confidence, try new things, and grow in ways that surprise even them.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who brings a positive, team-oriented attitude, and genuinely enjoys working with children in a close-knit community. She is friendly, adaptable, and willing to jump into every part of camp life—from teaching activities to singing songs and supporting campers through new experiences.
She takes pride in being a strong, caring role model and find real joy in helping campers build confidence, try new things, and grow throughout the summer. Just as importantly, she values community and are excited to form close friendships with fellow staff while contributing to a supportive, upbeat team environment.
Most of all, she's looking for a summer that is fun, meaningful, and memorable—and she leaves camp knowing she made a real and lasting impact.
Room and Board
Room and Board is provided for the duration of the contracted dates of employment. Most activity instructors also function as cabin counselors and reside in a cabin with campers under your supervision and co-cabin counselors to share supervisory duties with. Some cabins have bathrooms in them but most use shared bathrooms that are very nearby.
Our camp nurses have private bedrooms with a shared bathroom in our Health Center. Equestrian Staff members reside in a staff only cabin.
Employee Perks
The top floor of our main office has a staff lounge where staff have access to wifi, couches, a tv, a shared fridge, and a hang out space. Our nearby town of Minocqua is a popular vacation destination known for its beautiful lake, walking/hiking trails, shops, restaurants, and attractions. Staff enjoy exploring our nearby area on their weekly day off and 3x weekly night off.
Getting Here and Getting Around
You are welcome to bring a personal vehicle to camp though we have limited parking (spaces are reserved on a first come-first served basis). Staff who arrive by plane fly into either RHI or CWA and camp will pick staff up from their flight arriving to the area from either of these airports.
For Fun
Red Pine is the only privately owned property on Clear Lake, a spring-fed 1,200 acre lake acclaimed by many to be the clearest and cleanest lake in northern Wisconsin. Tall pines and magnificent maples, oaks, and birches are a part of this magical setting, providing campers with the sense of being in a world apart. Deer, loons, ducks, raccoons, bald eagles, pileated woodpeckers, owls and chipmunks are just some of the wildlife that share the 37 acres of Red Pine.
The nearby town of Minocqua is a popular vacation destination and is known for its beautiful lake, hiking/biking trails, shops, restaurants, boating, and vacation attractions. Staff enjoy exploring the area on their time off.
