Sky Line Lodge was built in 1945 and, along with a cluster of cabins, became one of the area’s primary seasonal lodging options, offering rustic accommodations and access to fishing, hiking, and the surrounding Rio Grande National Forest.

Room

Seasonal employees live in the lodge for a base fee of $25 per week. This includes:

• Dormitory-style room w/ mini fridge

• Utilities (electric, heat, water)

• Internet

• Laundry

• Hangout lounge w/ a large screen TV

Board

Seasonal employees are provided meals "at cost." This includes:

• 3 meals a day

• Snacks

• Drinks

• Baked Goods

Getting Here and Getting Around

Employees should plan to have their own vehicle or arrange transportation to reach our remote Platoro location; we can provide pickup from the nearest airport in Alamosa by prior arrangement. On days off, the closest towns for supplies and services are Monte Vista, Alamosa, and Antonito, so plan travel accordingly and let us know if you need airport pickup when you apply.

What We're Looking For

• Passion for customer service and creating positive guest experiences

• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills

• Able to multitask, stay organized, and work under pressure

• Willingness to learn and rotate through front desk, kitchen, and housekeeping duties

• Dependable, flexible team player committed to safety and Sky Line values

• Comfort lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs; able to work in a fast‑paced environment

• Previous hospitality or customer‑service experience is a plus

• Desire to serve others and contribute to a welcoming lodge atmosphere

What You'll Do

Hospitality Attendants rotate through a variety of roles, keeping each day fresh and engaging while ensuring guests feel welcomed and well-served.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Cleaning guest cabins, lodge rooms, lobbies, and public areas

• Making beds, stripping linens, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and sweeping

• Cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, fireplaces, windows, and appliances

• Responding to guest needs

• Working independently while following the supervisor's direction

• Sorting, folding, and stacking laundry

• Loading and unloading washers and dryers

• Assisting with linen distribution and guest linen exchange

• Safely handling chemicals, equipment, and machinery

• Welcome guests with warmth, efficiency, and professionalism

• Answer questions, provide directions, and recommend can’t-miss experiences

• Handle guest needs with confidence and care

• Stay calm and solution-focused in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment

• Collaborate with a supportive team to create seamless, memorable stays

• Providing friendly, attentive service to guests in dining facilities

• Assisting with food preparation, serving, and restocking

• Maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of dining and kitchen areas

• Supporting teammates across multiple food service stations

• Following food safety, health, and Sky Line standards
