For Fun

Around Okeechobee, it’s more outdoorsy, relaxed Florida. With (10–30 minutes) are:

Fishing, boating, sunsets, and walking/biking the levee trail around the lake.

  • Kayaking & airboat tours
You can explore rivers and wetlands and see gators, birds, and wildlife up close.

  • Horseback riding (local ranch-style experience)
A very “old Florida” vibe riding through open land.

This area is all about nature, quiet, and the outdoors, not big-city attractions.

Orlando Theme Parks are easy day trips (About 1.5–2 hours) from Pine Creek.

  • Walt Disney World
The biggest attraction in Florida—rides, shows, characters, and fireworks.

  • Universal Orlando Resort
More thrill rides and movies (Harry Potter, roller coasters, etc.)

📍 Travel time:

  • About 1 hr 45 min to 2 hours driving from Okeechobee

  • Disney and Universal are only about 15 minutes from each other

Other Cool Attractions (1–1.5 hours) if you don’t want full theme park crowds:

  • Wild Florida – drive-thru safari + airboats

  • Lion Country Safari – animals roaming around your car

  • Bok Tower Gardens – peaceful gardens + tower views

We're actually in a great spot for Beaches (45 minutes – 1.5 hours) in between coasts:

East Coast Beaches are going to be the closest & easiest:

  • Fort Pierce (≈45–60 min)
Chill beaches, fishing pier, not too crowded

  • Vero Beach (≈1 hr)
    Clean, relaxed, good for swimming

  • Juno Beach (≈1–1.25 hr)
Great water + sea turtles sometimes

These beaches are considered some of the best nearby options with clear water and space to relax.
