What You’ll Do
Drive sales on the floor. Engage every guest who walks in, understand what they’re looking for, and guide them to products they’ll love through warmth and product knowledge, not pressure. You own your daily contribution to store sales.
Tell the Alpaca story. Educate customers on Why Alpaca is special: warmth, softness, durability, sustainability, and how it’s sourced. Product knowledge is your most powerful (and least ‘salesy’) selling tool.
Maximize every transaction. Helpsuggest complementary pieces, sizes, and gift options to naturally grow the average sale because you’re helping enhance the products, not upselling for its own sake.
Capture customers for the long term. Invite guests to join our email list so they can shop Peruvian Link online after their trip. You’re the front door to our fast-growing online store.
Hit clear targets. Work toward defined daily and weekly sales goals (conversion, average ticket, units per transaction) and take pride in beating them.
Deliver an elevated experience. Create a warm, polished, welcoming environment from greeting to checkout that reflects a high-end brand.
Run the operational basics. Accurately process sales (cash, card, gift), keep the floor merchandised and clean, and support restocking, tagging, and inventory organization.
Be a teammate. Collaborate with staff to hit monthly sales goals and keep the store running smoothly during peak periods.
What You Bring
A natural way with people. You build rapport quickly and make customers feel comfortable, not cornered.
A track record of selling in any setting. Retail, hospitality, restaurants, hotels, tasting rooms, or events all count. What matters is that you’ve helped people say ‘yes’ and have driven sales, tips, or repeat guests.
Confidence without pushiness. You can recommend, suggest, and close a sale while keeping it genuine.
Strong communication. Clear, friendly, and able to explain product details in a way anyone can follow.
Reliability and initiative. Self-motivated, punctual, and proactive, you don’t wait to be told what to do.
Flexible availability. Including weekends and holidays through the season.

Peruvian Link Bar Harbor
Peruvian Link produces premium, ethically sourced Alpaca apparel and accessories. Our store sits in the heart of one of Maine’s busiest summer destinations, and some customers are discovering Alpaca for the first time or repetitive customers who have already discovered Alpaca. Your job is to turn that curiosity into a lasting impression of the brand and continue serving those who already love us.
