Wrangler needed for 35,000-acre private family recreational ranch in Laramie Range SE Wyoming. Summer position May 1st to Oct. 1st. Responsible for conditioning of 12 horses and care of barn animals (barn cats an1 burro). Owners and their friends come up on long weekends. They may ride three times (usually hour long rides) or sometimes not at all. Rides are kept small around six riders max. Supervision and education of all levels of riders. Experience leading trail rides is a must. The responsibilities will entail the following: herd management, individual horse care and husbandry, farrier scheduling, rider safety, riding instruction, barn maintenance and landscaping, adult and children rides, as well as other details/duties related to the overall satisfaction of the family and their guests. Riding safety is a must. Helping with guest services (flipping bedrooms, meal cleanup, general cleaning, etc). 50% of time will be wrangler duties and other 50% of time will be in guest services and hospitality.
This person will need to be able to work in a team related environment, but also be able to think independently and be ready to handle any situation in an emergency.
Housing/utilities consist of a private bedroom with hallway bathroom in our horse barn provided along with salary.
Pre-hire drug screening and background check.
Current Driver's license
Must have own vehicle for personal use.
Discretionary end of season bonus.
