    Childrens Center

    Childrens Center Attendant

    $18.00 - $19.00 / hour

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Children Center Department is a fun and exciting way to join the ski industry and the Monarch family.  This department is an upbeat, kid focused environment that provides opportunities to earn while still getting to play in the mountains.  The Children Center Attendant should be enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced childcare center and customer service environment. Excellent communication, enjoy working with children, customer service, and ability to maintain a safe environment for children are a must. 

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    The Child Care Attendant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Work in conjunction with other employees and departments as part of the Monarch team.
    • Have an awareness of and work within state and federal childcare codes and regulations.
    • Provide supervision of indoor and outdoor activities for enrolled children, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.
    • Provide fun and creative children’s activities in a clean, safe and organized environment.
    • Assist with the check in/ check out process of registered children, and those scheduled for lessons.
    • Assist in the sanitary preparation and serving of snacks and lunches.
    • Comfortably and competently assist children with bathroom breaks including changing diapers when necessary.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    The Cook responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Prepare all food items for the Gunbarrel, Elmo’s, Sidewinder Saloon, and/or Java Stop in a timely and consistent manner.
    • Work as a team with other members of the Food & Beverage department. 
    • Observe and practice all health and sanitation rules and regulation regarding food handling, cleaning, and safety procedures.
    • Keep all food items appropriately stocked, rotated, and prepared every day.

    JOB SUMMARY:

Ensuring that every guest has the best possible food and food service experience by providing excellent customer service directly, as well as through every staff member.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    The Front of House Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Be an effective team leader within the guidelines of department and company policies, procedures, and values in fulfillment of Monarch’s mission statement to “provide our guests with a quality, personalized mountain experience.”
    • Work in conjunction with other employees and departments as part of the Monarch team.
    • Assist in the scheduling of departmental staff. Cover positions as necessary.
    • Assist in the initial and ongoing training and coaching of departmental staff.
    • Work in conjunction with other departments as part of the Monarch team.
    • Prepare and assist in the oversight of department personnel in the event of an emergency, as instructed by your manager. 
    • Assist in ordering, receiving, and inventorying.
    • Contribute to the maintenance of training materials, manuals, checklists and other documents necessary for the success of the department.
    • Provide courteous assistance in problem solving for both guests and employees, escalating to higher authority as necessary.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining recipes for all of Monarch’s house made items.
    • Ensure the consistency and quality of all products.
    • Communicate with Manager on a daily basis and have a system of communication to cover days off to ensure proper information flow.
    • Assist the Manager in ensuring that all Health, OSHA, and Building Codes are met to the highest standard.
    • Ensure that Monarch remains in compliance with all liquor laws and train staff accordingly, both with initial and ongoing training.
    • Attend daily morning meetings to disseminate and receive information to ensure good ongoing pathways of communication and ongoing training.
    • Assist in maintaining POS hardware and software, phones, and other devices. Inform Manager of any issues.
    • Assist in maintaining all equipment in proper working condition, apprising Manager of any equipment not in good, safe, working order.
    • Assist Food & Beverage Manager with menu creation and offer input for daily or weekly specials.

    Ski and Ride School

    Instructor

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Ski & Ride School Department is a fun and exciting way to join the on-mountain ski industry and the Monarch family.  This department is an upbeat, active, and outdoor department that provides opportunities to earn and play in the mountains.  Enjoy the on-mountain working environment then the perks of your complimentary Monarch Mountain Season Pass.  Instructors should have a positive attitude, enjoy being outdoors, and enjoy sharing their knowledge and passion for skiing or snowboarding with our guests.   Instructors are responsible for coaching guests in skiing and/or snowboarding, continues to develop his or her own skills as an instructor, and maintains clientele through proactive service and sales efforts. 

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    The instructors responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Coach guests in the tactics of skiing or snowboarding, providing them with a positive and quality experience that exceeds their expectations and within the realm of the PSIA/AASI teaching methodologies.
    • Work as a team with other members of all Monarch departments to provide exceptional service.
    • Assist with lesson line-ups as requested.
    • Develop skiing/boarding and teaching skills throughout the season.

    Lift Operations

    Lift Attendant

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Lift Operations Department is a fun and exciting way to join the on-mountain ski industry and the Monarch family.  This department is an upbeat, active, and outdoor department that provides opportunities to earn and play in the mountains.  Enjoy the on-mountain working environment then the perks of your complimentary Monarch Mountain Season Pass.  Lift Attendants (or "Lifties" as we call them) should have a positive attitude, enjoy being outdoors, and happily assist people through their experience on the slopes by helping them load and unload the lifts.   Lifties effectively exercise situational and environmental awareness to respond quickly to ensure guest safety. Using a shovel and other snow maintenance tools they keep the lift areas pristine. 

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    The Lift Attendant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Prepare, monitor and assist in the operation of assigned lift station. 
    • Be knowledgeable of operational and emergency procedures and the related equipment needed to perform the assigned duties.
    • Monitor the passengers’ use of the lift including observing, advising, and assisting them while they are in the attendant’s work area or as they embark or disembark from the lift.  Respond to unusual occurrences or conditions.
    • Address lift users, guests and fellow employees in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner at all times.
    • Work as a team with other members of the Lift Operations department to provide exceptional service.
    • Groom and maintain ramps and lift area for a neat appearance, and the reasonably safe and comfortable loading/unloading of users.
    • Deny access to the lift to any person violating procedures and criteria provided.
    • Advise the Lift Operator of observed abnormal or unusual conditions that may adversely affect the safety of the operation.

    Lift Maintenance

    Lift Maintenance Mechanic

    The Lift Maintenance Department is a fun and exciting way to join the on-mountain ski industry and the Monarch family.  This department is an upbeat, active, and outdoor department that provides opportunities to earn and play in the mountains.  Enjoy the on-mountain working environment then the perks of your complimentary Monarch Mountain Season Pass. The Lift Mechanic is a year-round, labor intensive, outdoor position responsible for monitoring, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all Monarch’s chair and surface lifts.  Having a mechanical aptitude is vital.  

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    The Lift Maintenance Mechanic responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Be an effective employee within the guidelines of department and company policies, procedures and values, in fulfillment of Monarch’s mission statement to “provide our guests with a quality, personalized mountain experience.”
    • Work in conjunction with other employees and departments as part of the Monarch team.
    • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly lift checks correctly and on time, performing all preventative and necessary maintenance to keep them in working order according to regulatory requirements (ANSI, B77 and CTSB), accessing lift stations, lift towers and other necessary locations on the mountain via snowmobile and/or skis/snowboard.
    • Constantly monitor the lift machinery for any possible problems, and keep the Manager informed of lift condition.
    • Advise the Lift Maintenance Manager or other authority personnel of weather or other conditions that may impact lift operations.
    • Perform major lift upkeep and maintenance annually.   
    • Conduct lift diagnostics, troubleshooting, and calibration.
    • Assist with lift installations, major repairs, and advanced technical operations.  
    • Perform lift evacuation procedures in conjunction with Ski Patrol when necessary and as directed.
    • Assist with training and being a lead for Level 1 and 2 staff. 
    • Assist with documentation and record keeping for department inspections. 
    • Attend applicable off-site training and other seminars as required.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    The Property Maintenance Custodian responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Provide information and direction to guests in a polite and courteous manner.
    • Work in conjunction with other employees and departments as part of the Monarch team.
    • Perform general cleaning, stocking and upkeep duties inside of the main lodge, Rental & Lesson Center, to include: trash removal, windows & doors, hydration stations, and vacuuming.
    • Be up to date with and utilize Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including, though not limited to, harnessing, bio-hazard protection…etc.
    • Use tools, power tools, chemicals, equipment…etc. in a knowledgeable, safe and appropriate manner.
    • All restrooms cleaned nightly, stocked and in working order.
    • May require working after closing as cleaning permits.
    • Possible snow removal duties around all base area buildings & roof.
    • Maintain the organization and working order of tools, materials and basic equipment used.
    • Keep Supervisor apprised of supplies inventory as necessary.

    Property Maintenance

    Property Maintenance Manager

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Property Maintenance Department is a fun and exciting way to join the ski industry and the Monarch family.  This department is an upbeat, knowledgeable department that provides opportunities to earn and play in the mountains.  The Property Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing staff and maintaining all Base Area facilities as well as ensuring the cleanliness of public areas such as restrooms, public locker rooms, and food seating areas. This position is also responsible for ensuring that Monarch Mountain is compliant with all regulatory agencies as they apply to the maintenance of facilities.  

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

     

     The Property Maintenance Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Be an effective leader within the guidelines of department and company policies, procedures and values, in fulfillment of Monarch’s mission statement to “provide our guests with a quality, personalized mountain experience.”
    • Manage, oversee and participate in the cleaning, upkeep and repair of all base area buildings, to include ensuring working keys and locks, and maintaining the inventory of Property Maintenance responsible supplies (ie…toilet paper, trash bags…etc.).
    • Ensure that hourly and daily cleaning duties are completed (ie… bathroom cleaning, trash management,  bussing/wiping tables, biohazard cleanup, and nightly vacuuming of public areas).
    • Ensure that Monarch Mountain complies with all regulatory agency inspection schedules and certifications including: Fire suppression systems, Fire Department regulations, fire alarm systems, elevator regulations, water quality regulations, health department regulations, OSHA regulations, Local and Federal Building Department regulations, and SDS regulations.
    • Be up to date with and utilize Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including, though not limited to, harnessing, bio-hazard protection…etc.

    • Oversee the initial and ongoing training of departmental staff, as necessary.
    • Provide timely employee feedback, and conduct qualitative performance reviews of department staff on a regular basis.  
    • Operate within budgetary constraints for the current season; contribute to departmental budget proposal for the following season.
    • Identify, research and submit departmental capital requests for fiscal review.
    • Work in conjunction with the certified Waste Water operator in ensuring that the Waste Water Treatment Facility is in compliance with all State mandated procedures and processes. 
    • Work in conjunction with other departments as part of the Monarch team.
    • Develop, review and maintain on a regular basis training materials, manuals, job descriptions and any other documents necessary for the overall success of the department.

    The Slope Maintenance responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Work in conjunction with other employees and departments as part of the Monarch team.
    • Use best practices and follow all safety and operating procedures in the performance of all duties.
    • Responsible for inspecting and operating the assigned machine, tools and equipment in accordance with machine manual recommendations and departmental procedures.
    • Identify and communicate equipment problems, and operate all equipment in a conscientious, efficient and economical manner.
    • Have the ski runs, areas surrounding the base, and the parking lots in optimum condition by the time employees and guests arrive.
    • Perform grooming to include packing, tilling, blading, patching, snow moving, major slope reconstruction, lift ramp and maze work, grooming and shoveling around buildings, leaving a quality surface.
    • Perform parking lot work to include clearing the entrance and exit roads, main parking area, garage lot, mine lot, stairs, loading dock, dumpsters, drains and around building, cleaning and pushing banks and maintaining a helicopter pad.
    • Assist in the picking up of trash and maintaining a neat and orderly appearance of the property.
    • Load & unload trucks getting supplies & equipment where they need to go.

    • Rake and maintain tubing park ingress and egress areas for a neat appearance, and the reasonably safe and comfortable use by our guests.
