Monarch Mountain's season typically is November through April. We have multiple openings in various departments including: Base Services, Children’s Center, Food & Beverage, Lift Operations, Property Maintenance, Rentals, Reservations, Retail, Season Passes & Tickets, Ski & Ride School, Slope Maintenance, and Tubing.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Base Area Services Department is a fun and exciting way to join the on-mountain ski industry and the Monarch family. This department is an upbeat, active, and outdoor department that provides opportunities to earn and play in the mountains. The Base Services Staff ensures that visitors to Monarch have a pleasant and personable experience from the time they drive into the parking lot; their responsibilities include parking and assisting guests with their vehicles, snow removal around the base area, and assisting with events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Base Area Services Staff responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Setup signs, cones, barriers…etc. in the parking lot(s).
- Direct vehicle traffic in the parking lot so that travel lanes are kept clear and vehicles are parked efficiently, maximizing the space available for guest parking.
- Assist guests with vehicle issues, to include though not limited to jump starts, tows, air, gas, locked keys…etc. Communicate with Slope Maintenance when vehicles require being left overnight.
- Operate company shuttle vehicles to transport guests to and from satellite parking areas.
- Assist with special events.
- Keep areas in and around the base area safe, neat, orderly, and snow and ice free.
- Maintain picnic tables and pick up trash on the mountain and base area.
- Greet and assist guests with knowledgeable directions and answers to questions.
- Assist Patrol with base area and on-mountain speed control, sweeps, setting fence and gear recovery as necessary.
- Coordinate with the Ticket Sales department in the organized storage and retrieval of lost and found items.

JOB SUMMARY:
The CDL Driver is a fun and exciting way to join the on-mountain ski industry and the Monarch family. This department is an upbeat, active, and outdoor department that provides opportunities to earn and play in the mountains. This position requires an individual with a Colorado Commercial Driver’s License to drive Monarch’s 16+ passenger vehicles, primarily the Employee Shuttle and other vehicles as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The CDL Driver responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Drive Monarch’s large capacity (16+ passengers) buses, to include the Monarch Employee Shuttle Bus.
- Pick-up and drop-off passengers at the designated locations and at scheduled times, as applicable.
- Drive other Monarch passenger vehicles as necessary.
- Responsible for the proper operation, cleanliness and ridership of assigned vehicle.
- Responsible for filling out vehicle operations log as required, and properly reporting any operating issues.
- Oversee riders’ behavior in accordance with the Employee Handbook (Shuttle Conduct); report questionable rider conduct to your manager.
- Observe all posted speed limits, road signage and road requirements.
- Clean Shuttle buses on a regular basis.

The Children Center Attendant should be enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced childcare center and customer service environment. Excellent communication, enjoy working with children, customer service, and ability to maintain a safe environment for children are a must.

The Children Center Attendant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work in conjunction with other employees and departments as part of the Monarch team.
- Have an awareness of and work within state and federal childcare codes and regulations.
- Provide supervision of indoor and outdoor activities for enrolled children, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children.
- Provide fun and creative children’s activities in a clean, safe and organized environment.
- Assist with the check in/ check out process of registered children, and those scheduled for lessons.
- Assist in the sanitary preparation and serving of snacks and lunches.

The position of Admin Assistant is responsible for aiding the Manager in daily revenue reporting, payroll, inventory, data entry, and other clerical duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Food and Beverage Admin Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Be an effective employee within the guidelines of department and company policies, procedures and values, in fulfillment of Monarch’s mission statement to “provide our guests with a quality, personalized mountain experience.
- Work in conjunction with other employees and departments as part of the Monarch team.
- Close drawers and run closing reports for the current day for each venue, process revenue reporting, make daily cash deposit, and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Accurately maintain the Food and Beverage bank including the safe, cash drawers, and change bags.
- Effectively maintain operational inventory procedures including putting away incoming orders on a timely basis, stock rotation and organizing inventory storage areas to promote Best Standards for First-In-First-Out (FIFO) of inventory items.
- Assist F&B Management as inventory leader for all scheduled inventories, including beginning of season, end of month and end of season inventories.
- Assist F&B Management in creating and placing of orders to restock food and alcohol. Work effectively with the Head Chef and bartenders to ensure adequate stock levels at all times.
- Perform end of day closing duties, including locking all venues, safe and office.

Ensuring that every guest has the best possible food and food service experience by providing excellent customer service directly, as well as through every staff member.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Front of House Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Be an effective team leader within the guidelines of department and company policies, procedures, and values in fulfillment of Monarch’s mission statement to “provide our guests with a quality, personalized mountain experience.”
- Work in conjunction with other employees and departments as part of the Monarch team.
- Assist in the scheduling of departmental staff. Cover positions as necessary.
- Assist in the initial and ongoing training and coaching of departmental staff.
- Work in conjunction with other departments as part of the Monarch team.
- Prepare and assist in the oversight of department personnel in the event of an emergency, as instructed by your manager.
- Assist in ordering, receiving, and inventorying.
- Contribute to the maintenance of training materials, manuals, checklists and other documents necessary for the success of the department.
- Provide courteous assistance in problem solving for both guests and employees, escalating to higher authority as necessary.
- Assist in creating and maintaining recipes for all of Monarch’s house made items.
- Ensure the consistency and quality of all products.
- Communicate with Manager on a daily basis and have a system of communication to cover days off to ensure proper information flow.
- Assist the Manager in ensuring that all Health, OSHA, and Building Codes are met to the highest standard.
- Ensure that Monarch remains in compliance with all liquor laws and train staff accordingly, both with initial and ongoing training.
- Attend daily morning meetings to disseminate and receive information to ensure good ongoing pathways of communication and ongoing training.
- Assist in maintaining POS hardware and software, phones, and other devices. Inform Manager of any issues.
- Assist in maintaining all equipment in proper working condition, apprising Manager of any equipment not in good, safe, working order.
- Assist Food & Beverage Manager with menu creation and offer input for daily or weekly specials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Gunbarrel Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Be an effective leader within the guidelines of department and company policies, procedures, and values in fulfillment of Monarch’s mission statement to “provide our guests with a quality, personalized mountain experience.”
- Ensure all forms, tracking, verifications, and necessary documenting are executed and accurately completed in a timely manner. This includes, though is not limited to scheduling requests, training and disciplinary documentation, payroll and time-keeping, ordering, invoicing, inventorying, daily accounting, and other reporting as prescribed.
- Assist in the hiring of department A-Team employees.
- Schedule department staff for efficient coverage of department functions based on projected skier budget. Adjust to actual requirements as appropriate.
- Perform initial and ongoing training of departmental staff.
- Provide timely employee feedback, and contribute to producing qualitative performance reviews of department A-Team staff.
- Work in conjunction with other departments as part of the Monarch team.

Instructors are responsible for coaching guests in skiing and/or snowboarding, continues to develop his or her own skills as an instructor, and maintains clientele through proactive service and sales efforts.

The instructors responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coach guests in the tactics of skiing or snowboarding, providing them with a positive and quality experience that is exceeds their expectations and within the realm of the PSIA/AASI teaching methodologies.
- Work as a team with other members of all Monarch departments to provide exceptional service.
- Assist with lesson line-ups as requested.
- Develop skiing/boarding and teaching skills throughout the season.

Lift Attendants (or "Lifties" as we call them) should have a positive attitude, enjoy being outdoors, and happily assist people through their experience on the slopes by helping them load and unload the lifts. Lifties effectively exercise situational and environmental awareness to respond quickly to ensure guest safety. Using a shovel and other snow maintenance tools they keep the lift areas pristine.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Lift Attendant responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare, monitor and assist in the operation of assigned lift station.
- Be knowledgeable of operational and emergency procedures and the related equipment needed to perform the assigned duties.
- Monitor the passengers’ use of the lift including observing, advising, and assisting them while they are in the attendant’s work area or as they embark or disembark from the lift. Respond to unusual occurrences or conditions.
- Address lift users, guests and fellow employees in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner at all times.
- Work as a team with other members of the Lift Operations department to provide exceptional service.
- Groom and maintain ramps and lift area for a neat appearance, and the reasonably safe and comfortable loading/unloading of users.
- Deny access to the lift to any person violating procedures and criteria provided.
- Advise the Lift Operator of observed abnormal or unusual conditions that may adversely affect the safety of the operation.

The Monarch Experience Specialist should be eager to learn, experience, and curate all that Monarch and the surrounding areas have to offer.
The Monarch Experience Specialist should be enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced sales and customer service environment. The Monarch Experience Specialist is an ambassador for the mountain and books all resort services for our guests. The responsibility of the Monarch Experience Specialist is to determine guest needs and match them with the appropriate products, all while setting clear and accurate expectations and ensuring reservations are free from error. The Monarch Experience Specialist with be working with all products available at the Mountain including, but not limited to, lift tickets, tubing, rental equipment, and ski/board lessons.
Excellent communication, attention to detail, customer service, sales skills, teamwork, and ability to work in an office environment are a must. This position requires the ability to have a flexible schedule, including weekends & holidays, and requires the ability to use multiple software applications at a time. Intermediate to advanced computer skills are necessary for all qualified candidates. Product, resort, sales, and system application training will be provided.
